In 2014 my internet adventure and quest for knowledge exposed me to athiest ideas on nairaland. My consistency in digesting this ideas led me to resist God and his word.

Before then, i was born again and had experienced the spiritual, but some how, i started intepreting all of those as allucination and mental chemistry.

In my arogance, i took sides with man and the devil and rejected the giver of life. I can remember telling my Mum that God doesn't exist and she almost collapsed, that was how hard i fell.

Few years later, have had several spiritual attacks and demonic manifestation (that i would not discuss here) that has convinced me about the existence of the spiritual.

The point is that, i regret my actions and i wish to get back with God, but it seems difficult. My sin consciousness is death, the bible no longer makes sense, i have prayed and cried, but on the inside it feels dead and i know i have not been accepted.

I Know the Holy Spirit left me when i started resisting God. Is there hope?

If you're an athiest reading this, you might feel you are intelligent, rational and knowledgeable about the universe. You might honestly reject the ideas of God and spirituality as foolish and irrational, but it's just the devil covering your eyes (with your consent) until the D-day.

1corinthians1:18
For the message of God is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

I have no qualms with your conversion to Christianity. But if you're going to present a story like this, then expect it to be scrutinized.

I don't mean to pull a no true Scotsman fallacy here, but I'm really beginning to doubt your claims of being “an atheist"

You claimed to have engaged with atheistic ideas here on nairaland, which led you to resist "God and his word". And then you went on to tell your mom that God doesn't exist.

So let me start from there.

a) You've failed to define atheism correctly right off the bat. Atheism lacks belief in a God. It doesn't assert that God, whatever it is, does not exist. That has never been the default view in atheism.

Saying you don't believe in something, and saying something doesn't exist are 2 different things. Some atheists may say the latter, but that isn't based on anything atheism itself is supposed to be.

b) Now, you've successfully denied God as you claim. And you had “spiritual attacks"... What in the spiritual attack gave you the impression that the Christian God, rather than the muslim or Hindu one was the real God?

You hinge your conversion story on things you deem spiritual, like demonic manifestation, and attacks, and yet you refuse to shed more light on them.

What gave you the impression that the “spiritual" is evidence of the Christian God, rather than one of the other several thousand Gods in existence?

And finally, what “arguments" did you engage with that led you to the idea that God, whatever it is, does not exist?

I've not met a single honest atheist that claims they are “intelligent" or “knowledgeable" about the universe. So i don't know where you're getting this idea from.

You might honestly reject the ideas of God and spirituality as foolish and irrational, but it's just the devil covering your eyes (with your consent) until the D-day.

If you reject the idea of Allah, and Mohamed as his prophet, then jin is covering your eyes. If yoi reject the idea of Horus, or Krishna, then their respective “demonic" entities are covering your eyes.

Your relationship with God is personal...you where lost but now you are found, heaven is rejoicing in this. Your steps in the right direction has begun. U must diligently seek God and strive to take actions that please your creator...He sees and He hears and knows.....gradually all will fall in its place

How can an atheist help you get back to God? For you to get come back to God you need to learn about him, know him and Love him.

I was only making fun of his 'smart questions'.

How do you know and love GOD without his help? I started attending church, reading the bible and listening to preaching, but it seems my faith is dead. The word of GOD hasn't gotten to my spirit yet. It frustrating.

Knowing God is a process, Listen to his words, observe his creation, use his name, build faith, act on what you learn.
Find out answers to some of the most common questions about God and life. Get the facts and clear explanations from his Word the bible. Do you wish to study the bible to help you understand and find answers to life questions?

1. Have you at least visited a professional mental health therapist to ascertain that what you are indeed dealing with is not mental in origin? undecided

99% of the times when Nigerians speak of the spiritual they are instead referring to the mental and this makes it hard to understand whey really are on the sanity scale. undecided

2. What does the statement in bold mean? What do you understand sin to mean? undecided

What do you mean when you say the Bible no longer makes sense? It's a book like any other book out there and to comprehend what is written in it, you pretty much process it like you would any other text from any other book written in human language printed with ink on paper. So what of that are you having having a problem with? Or are you dyslexic? undecided

3. According to Jesus Christ, He will never leave or forsake anyone who belongs to Him, so meaning you never belonged to Him in the first place. Whatever left you was not God's Holy Spirit aka the Spirit of Truth who also happens to be the Spirit of Jesus Christ. So maybe you ought instead be glad It left you. undecided

To get back is all about believe that God has forgiven you. No one can serve God without faith. U don't need to see or feel that God has forgiven you all u need now is just believe and have faith that u are now accepted into His folds.

1. Those rituals mean nothing where God is concerned. God never sent anyone to attending your churches or reading of your bibles and listening to pastors and mogs, the very false teachers and false prophets He warned His followers to steer clear of. But if religion, instead of God, is what you seek, then go ahead and continue blindly swimming in the delusion that is religion. undecided

2. There is no magical word of God to get to your spirit, assuming you even have one since only those who are born-again have a spirit to them - John 3 vs 1 - 8. Jesus Christ instead taught that all you need do is hear His teachings and His commandments and do/obey them. To hear His teachings, you can look into the 4 Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - and begin obeying that which Jesus Christ commands of His followers. That is how you activate your mind to heading His Word. undecided

Faith has to do with Obedience of God's teachings and commandments - that's what it means to serve God , to obey Him. You cannot honor God without Obedience. undecided

Faith in God through Jesus Christ refers to the living one's life in continuous acceptance and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. You cannot do that which God has not commanded and expect Him to be honored by it. It will never happen. undecided

According to God, the way to be forgiven is to do as He asks. So no amount of mental gymnastics will force that to happen without obedience of that which God has commanded. undecided

I know there is a sin unto death. Heb6:4-6, 1john5:16,17

But what keeps me hopeful is that amidst all the spiritual attacks i have had, even to a point of almost getting initiated in a demonic kingdom(long story), when christians prayed for me, i got delivered from them all.

How do you explain that? Would God have helped me if he has rejected me forever?

Don't worry about that for God has not rejected you forever because God is not willing that anyone perishes but that all come to repentance. So if you have truly repented, then you're on the right track.

His begotten son was born in 6BC, the Christian bible you read that contains his begotten son wasn’t complied until 3/4th century, what was delivering people before then?

Op, the fact that you are even alive to be saying this, means that God still love and want to save. The first thing is to seek for forgiveness. Genuinely repent from your sins. Then very importantly learn to forgive yourself. That means knowing that God has forgiven you and you believing in the forgiveness of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is a process. It takes time. But if you keep believing and living a righteous life, with time the guilt of sin will die. Be happy you are doing what is right

1. What has "sin unto death - perish-in-the-grave" to do with one who claims to be alive(eternal) in Jesus Christ abeg? undecided

2. God's mercy is poured out on everyone in the world - even on the wicked and the ungrateful- daily. There is no one that God has not helped in this lifetime. The very breath of life that courses through your vein belongs to God and so God helps even those who seek medical help rather than voodoo help or your deliverance rituals every single day. undecided

The fact that you still have your conscience is an indication that you are not lost nor rejected by God. You spiritual fall has caused you massive wounds and it will take time and consistency for your healing.

It's like a man who has his leg bones shattered in an accident. He cannot expect to start running as of the past when he goes to see a doctor.

The most important thing is between you and Christ. A contrite and repentant heart ready to start all over as a baby.

You are not continuing your spiritual class from where you fell, you are demoted to a much lower class. It takes humility to accept where you are now and grow from there. You may be granted accelerated promotion (you never know).

Learnt to fight your spiritual battles as you have opened up yourself to the hordes of Satan and you need to flush out the infection.

I pray for grace for you. Trust the Lord Jesus: He understands every form of human weakness!

Luk 22:31-32:
"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brothers."

I believe the prayers of those who love you is being answered!
When you are converted and fully healed, help others.

Shalom

LOL! You are talking to someone about repentant heart... Have you repented from being a shameless, ignoble and morally bankrupt liar? Why on earth would you lie to win an argument? Is religion NOT everything we do to please our God again?

I noticed you used the name Jesus above but per your logic, JESUS is a meaningless (if not useless) name since it has no meaning in English. So why should he trust the Lord Jesus? I will use your logic to puncture your argument!
