Konate is a beast. He did well against my boy but he won't get so lucky next time.

The Monster Machine has dealt with Strong CB names like Smalling, Demiral and Konate's Oga, Virgil Van Dijk this season already. Daley Blind and Joe Gomez also fell under the Osimhen Sword.... and more will follow.

So till we meet again.... cool
grin
Okay Batman

Mad game. Now locked at 2-2.

Onyedika, apart from his cerebral plays has made the most tackles in the game while Yusuf apart from his energetic brainy displays has completed the most passes in the game.

A display of midfield brilliance from two young Naija lads. Proper Midfield ballers.

Raphael Onyedika Nwadike and Alhassan Yusuf are undisputably Two of Nigeria's Top 4 most inform Midfield performers this 22/23 season and today for the umpteenth time, they proved it.

Press-resistant Ball-playing Midfield monsters and highly cerebral in offensive and defensive transitions.

Their Midfield battle was so sweetly tactical that they dropped some similar stats in the high profile 2-2 league game:

▶️Recoveries
Onyedika: 13
Yusuf: 13

▶️Ground duels won
Onyedika: 7/11 ground duels won
Yusuf: 6/11 ground duels won

▶️Fouls committed
Onyedika: 4
Yusuf: 4

▶️Number of times fouled
Onyedika: 1
Yusuf: 1

▶️Pass entries into Final third
Onyedika: 6
Yusuf: 5

The pic below is Onyedika winning a freekick in the opponent's half with Alhassan conceeding the foul in the process of stopping Onyedika's ball carry into the opponent's defensive half.

Fact is Thomas Frank used him the way he did coz that is how best the lad can be used for all his middle game limitations in a side playing with a defensive/counter/mid+deep block press against a more superior possession-based side.

He doesn't have the ballplaying IQ to best engage in ball carrying in such a game coz his decision making on the ball and Passing range isn't up there.

Besides, some ball carrying was already being done by Rico Henry for a good part of the game from the left and we saw opportunities for Brentford.

Frank did his "workrate merchant-like" pressing job/runs decently but beyond that he was nothing special. That is the truth.
Which coach will let u find out if u have good ballplaying IQ against Cityhuh The brenford i saw were playing anywhere would do with the ball for the most part. In his previous match the coach let Frank do his thing and he had a brilliant performance that more than likely earned him the city start. If that's not good enough we can look back at his midjiland days where he was basically Raphael Onyedika before there was Raphael Onyedika.

At the end of the day u can't fault a man for being a professional. If he goes out there trying to prove he's a baller and the coach ends up hiding him under the bench nobody will have his back.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m):
Frank Onyeka wasn't Raphael Onyedika before the Original Raphael Onyedika burst onto the scenes. That is misleading information Basco. Onyeka was more of a box to box and roaming tackling machine back in Denmark who also slotted in at CDM but he wasn't famed for his ball skills and calm DM role execution like Onyedika was.

They are nothing alike even going back to their Danish days.

And ofcos against Man City only very few teams can actually assert themselves close to what they envision in their pregame plans but was just saying Thomas Frank had a plan and Frank Onyeka was vital to that plan. Press, run and disrupt. Exactly what he is good at. That he did and nothing "apparently" more.

Nigerian teams need to start taking this competition seriously.

This is a $400,000 competition for God sake.

An injection of $400,000 into the Nigerian league will go a long way in improving female football in the country.

Sundowns is about making a cool $800, 000.

Other African countries have caught up with Nigeria in women's football.
One can't give what she does not have.

Women football in Nigeria need a boost not only from government but also from organizations.

Ike Igbo headed to the WC with Canada. Congrats.

I know our Super Eagles aren't WC-bound but there's just no way Ike Ugbo was getting in over several strikers in the team.
Definitely not over the top listed 7 below.

Osimhen, Moffi, Sadiq, Onuachu, Awoniyi, Dessers, Okereke, Maja, Arokodare, etc...

Well written Boss, one thing you harped on a lot is, all these guys are Nigerian players, no need bringing one down for another. I remember the days of another magnificent midfield maestro on this thread, the extra special Ajagun!!!!! grin grin grin
However, unlike Ajagun, Alhassan and Onyedika's time will surely come all things being equal

Can you imagine suggesting that we call up division 2 player like nwakali ahead of Epl Aribo or Belgium onyedika ahead of Epl Onyeka. The same people want us to believe that, there isn’t any external interest in those players
