Yeah man, was an enlightening experience. I had never seen white generational poverty before. Not the white immigrant transient city type. Deep poverty esp. in W. VA. and N.C. I can see why the GOP blame rhetoric is sooo effective. But, the language was also so weird. In general, Dem states give more to the Fed government in taxes than they get back in Fed Aid(Roads and Bridges, Medicare, Welfare, etc.) and Republican states usually get (take) more Federal Aid than they give via taxes. But somehow these very poor people believe they are the ones giving to these Dem States. But the Dems, actually believing in helping people, still fight for programs(like free community college to help coal workers in VA transition to Solar Energy jobs) that largely help these poor states. Yet these people still attack the policies and vote Republicans. Amazing.

The meme reflects the reality which is why it’s funny. I didn’t deny it was a key issue, in fact if you go through my post history you would see where I was the first person on this thread to attribute the Democrats better than expected performance to single women who came out in larger than usual numbers for them because of the abortion issue while others here were still saying it was all about Trump, Trump, Trump. In fact let me upload a screenshot of that post for you.

What I am doing here with this meme is questioning the wisdom of people who place killing babies as a higher voting priority than all the other urgent and pressing problems the country is facing written in the lower part of the picture. I hope that’s not too complicated for you to understand?

At most Trump has 2-6 more years as an influential player in Republican politics depending on if he wins the next election or not. Because if he fails to secure the presidency in 2024 that’s basically the end of his career. Even if he wins he would be term limited in 2028. By then he would be well into his 80’s and even his most die hard supporters would acknowledge it’s time to move on.

Something might have happened to make them have a change of mind to do away with the pregnancy. Could be finance, health, abuse, trauma etc.
