please how much is 2008 honda accord 2.0 engine ?

I don’t know the cost but I was once in your shoes.

I ended up buying a 2.4L engine with its brainbox and complete engine wire harness grin

I heard that engine is very scarce and costs more than the regular 2.4L

Good evening House...

Pls how much will it cost me to replace the Power steering pump on a Honda Odyssey 2001 model?

When I turn the steering it makes a squealing noise.

Tokumbo N15k. But if it’s not stiff you really don’t need to change it. Squealing noises while turning means there’s air in the system either from improper bleeding or a bad seal.

There are people who can ‘reseal’ your pump for half the price if the noise is the only issue you’re having with it wink

Okay...thanks.
The steering is not stiff.
But once I start my car and the engine is running there is a squealing noise from the pump.
This noise becomes louder when I turn the steering wheel.

If you’re using coolant then you’re safe and sound wink

But if you’re using ordinary water then I’m very sorry for you. The rust building up in your radiator is gonna be on another level by now.

You can take the vehicle to your mechanic to help you take the pump out and give it to someone to ‘re-kit’ it. They will refresh the seals and your troubles will go away.

I just got a 2007 honda civic toks. It came with 2.0L/2.4L EOD engine.

Kindly advice me with the maintenance tips, type of oil to use, how often should I service, and how to find a good mechanic in my area. Thanks

Please post a pic of your engine bay. Is it an automatic or manual?

If your engine wasn’t swapped before then it means you must have purchased a Civic Type R or SI, that’s like a unicorn on a rainbow. Use any name brand 5w30 weight oil and change it every 4000 miles then also make a mental note to change out your transmission oil before the next 12 months.

Please what are the pros and cons of Honda Accord 2011 model v6 engine I planned getting a Nigeria used. But our local mechanic are telling me to avoid v6 engine because of fueling, expensive spare part and low resale value

I drive a Honda crv 2008 model. Recently I discovered that the engine light blinks for about 3 seconds when I start the car and during that same period the car vibrates /jerks after that it normalises. What could be the issue?

Scan your car, post codes here. It has a misfire.

Air is getting into your steering system. Have a mechanic trace the leak and sort it out. It may eventually lead to the failure of your power steering pump.

I personally drive an accord 2007 v6 and it's awesome. The fuel consumption is very ok and the maintenance is ok. In this part of the world honda v6 particularly has low resale value because it's a honda with a v6 engine. That car is very powerful, balanced, fast and doesn't vibrate due to AC load. If you are in Lagos and you wish to use the car everyday to and fro your office then it may not make economic sense because of the traffic here however I'll reiterate the fuel consumption isn't that bad. I use to own a 4 cylinder eod and since I switched to the v6 I really don't notice much difference. Just make sure you get a good unit with complete catalytic converters. Inspect the timing belt. Make sure it's not abused

Thank you sir, I am based in Abuja. I experience mild traffic in the morning when going to office ( this can be addressed if I wake up a little earlier). From your experience how what are the sign of missing catalyst, because I believe that particular version of Accord use timing chain.

Driving early will ease the consumption. I live in abj too. The traffic is not that bad. Go for V6. I am also planning a V6 Honda next year

Accord 4cyl made from 2003 uses timing chain however all honda v6 uses timing belt. Kindly inspect the timing belt also. I too didn't know that it uses belt till I bought it however it's not an issue at all

Just P0420 & P0011
1-Honda Accord 08
2-Nope, it started after the engine seat were changed.
3-Nope

For the P0011, If truly the issue started immediately after the engine mount change (and if you changed the rear mount near the firewall) then it means that your yeye mechanic must have damaged the wires leading to your VTC solenoid.

As for the other code it’s your catalyst saying it’s tired or you’re burning oil.

What kind of engine is this and what type of oil do you run it on?

As I said check your vtc solenoid first for loose or damaged wiring. It’s the one mounted on the back of the engine valve cover on the power steering side. If the wiring looks okay then there’s something wrong either with the solenoids filter/screens (dirty needs cleaning), the solenoid itself or the vtc gear on the camshaft. Check for faults in the order I wrote them out.

I guess the oxygen sensor code must have been there for a while right or did it come on with the other code too? I don’t see the mechanic causing that one except you left the vehicle with him overnight and he did ‘abracadabra’ under your car undecided

Good morning, thanks for the earlier advise turns out my radiator was bought new one and it’s good now, below is my not so new observation of the car now.

I drive a civic 06, changed engine and gear in July. Now I feel the gear is slipping because my car is slower, high revs when descending from a bridge, doesn’t drive well at a stop and go.

Oh okay thank you. But the vibrations could it be the engine seat were not properly installed ?./ Since its only when On (D) and idle. Before it wasn't like that.
