Academic guru.

I want to believe you understand comparison analysis.

That means by COMPARISON.

Look at level of unhinged euphoric praise singing that other players get in comparison to Ademola Lookman.

Ademola Lookman is a essentially a winger and is third in the goal scoring charts of Seria A ,that's absolutely astounding.

Your shameless in your double standard duplicity .

My assertion is very simple Ademola doesn't get anywhere near the same recognition and praise singing given to the favourites here.

If V.O. breaks wind you will sing a song of praise.

One thing I don’t comprehend here is that, why are some people upset that another member is adulating a super eagles player? If it upset you, counter it by hyping your own SE player rather than complain. No one is stopping any member here from hyping a SE player

Was this not your handwriting in the same 2017 when your desperation once again beclouded your sense of reasoning?

What exactly is your point here , because I don't get it.

In 2017 Fred Onyedinma had played 3 season in the Championship he started at 16 he was a poster boy. Everybody wanted him yes Arsenal, Tottenham, etc , he played local football with Gomez and Iwobi.

Fred is about a year older than Ademola Lookman, who got his first game in 2016 in the Championship. After Fred had enjoyed two seasons in the Championship and was outstanding as a younger teenage player.

There is something called time related,. AT THAT TIME , Fred Onyedinma was ahead.

But he was very very wrongly advised he spent near 8/9 years at Millwall he got to emotive with his loyalty to club instead of career. Wrong decisions and his career has stalled now in my opinion.

You can look at comments I made in 2019 saying , I've stopped talking about him he's been disappointing.

Switzerland took it easy bruv. Noah Okafor is the best and most valuable player in the Austrian Bundesliga and he came from the bench for this friendly.

They took out 3 of their biggest names at halftime while Ghana kept their XI intact till the 62min and this was after Switzerland made more changes also 62mins.

Only Kudus and Partey didn't play. They had everyone else. And Wollacott is injured. He isn't better than Ati Zigi who kept goal today for them. Ati Zigi is a super regular in Switzerland.

Truth is Ghana took this friendly more seriously while Switzerland only took it as a tactical test run.

Truth is, It is habitual for African teams to almost always take Pre WC friendlies far more seriously than their European counterparts and secure wins to instill a false sense of readiness and confidence in fans only to get to the main event and falter hard.

it is habitual for African countries to loose disastrously just before World Cups, Nigeria lost to Netherlands in 98, Ghana did same in 2010. There are loads of such type of defeats by African teams

Another 424 this peseiro is actually Eguavoen older brother with his outdated formation. I expect Portugal to own the midfield. At this point, the worse that has happened already happened (No wc for us) we might as well hire a local coach that we can afford. Imagine paying $70,000 a month to be selecting out dated formation
there is no outdated formation in football. You just need the coach to have a proper grasp of the formation
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 2:47pm On Nov 17, 2022
According to what we all reference from OGN, yes it looks like a 433 even though OGN calls it a 442.

But I am looking at it more like a 4231 because if Aribo will play behind the Main Striker in Moffi then he should be making those runs into the box sometimes (mostly centrally) when off the ball or acting to link up with Moffi or the wingers when on the ball in his usual 1-2 interplay approach.

Iwobi and Ndidi will be the major Central midfield lads with Ndidi covering the defensive and Iwobi orchestrating the offensive and helping out in some defensive duties from deep.

A 433 means Aribo and Iwobi will play on either side of central midfield with Ndidi sitting deeper and centrally and we would see Simon and Lookman operating boxwards-closer to Moffi for the whole game. But I don't that's what will happen for the most parts. We would be defending as well and Simon is known for his defensive shifts as a LW.

433 or 424 could be our shape in a few offensive transitions but it depends on how quickly those transitions can be executed and I am also interested in seeing how often we can execute it against a side like Portugal.

I think we will have Iwobi and Ndidi operating deeper in the middle and Aribo to operate in the AM/SS zones between the defensive lines in the final third. Iwobi could make occasional bursts forward if need be and depending on the in-game transitions.

Simon and Lookman will fall back to form a 4-man or 5-man mid-block as we defend in a 4-4-1-1/4-5-1 or 4-4-2 mode.

Also, it could be 5-4-1 off the ball in defensive transitions with Ndidi slotting into Central defence to form a 3 man CB wall flanked by the fullbacks. Then with Aribo slotting deep alongside Iwobi and with Lookman and Simon on both flanks in the middle third. Moffi will be isolated.

I remember being eager to witness an Ndidi-Iwobi-Aribo Midfield many months ago and we will finally have it today but in recent times, I believe we can have a much better midfield lineup from tactical sync POVS but for today, let us see what this specific trio can muster up.

But one thing is certain... we won't keep the same shape in offensive and defensive transitions.

Watch out for our formation switch when we defend and when we attack. Unless JPes doesn't know what he intends to do.

I am also interested in seeing how close to the box the likes of Lookman and Simon will operate and how frequently we can get them into such positions when transiting offensively.

And finally, I am very interested in our middle game dynamics and how much role they will play in driving us forward to get Moffi, Simon and Lookman into the game more often than not.

Nigeria before WC 2002.

Nigeria before WC 2018. Beating Poland away got into our heads somewhat. How we talked about it.

And ofcos Senegal before this WC (verdict will be out soon).

And Cameroun prior to the 2014 WC.

There are more examples of African teams winning friendlies before the mundial and going there to mess it up.

It is Habitual for African teams to always give their fans false sense of hope and readiness before the mundial. Only few have done okay in pre WC friendlies and still went on to do decently at the mundial.

Not an excuse. They fielded a very solid XI (minus Partey & Kudus) and kept that compactness still their first change on 62mins after Switzerland have made like 4-5 changes, 3 being at Halftime taking out 3 of their finest.

The two Central MFs Ghana paraded aren't bomboys. One plays for RC Lens doing very well in Ligue 1. A new lad just making headway into the Ghanaian squad. The other features for Torunarigha's Gent. Off the bench, Kofi Kyereh is a known name for Ghana. Was ever present at the Afcon and played against us in the WCQ Playoffs.

Ghana should survive South Korea, Uruguay and Portugal first. No Switzerland 45mins changes approach here.

The match is inconsequential for us and Osimhen is on a title charge with Napoli. That is important.

If he has a knock no matter how very minor, then he can be excused. No need dragging him to an inconsequential game. Let Moffi and the others have more chances to play.

When Qualifiers come back on next year and he is fit, he will be available.

Oh, I do believe with this win it is good as a confidence booster. Switzerland is way ranked higher than black stars. They certainly need to build on this win and find some inspiration. But I know for certain they will be the underdogs and they will not concede many goals. They lack that killer poacher quality in Asamoah Gyan who rises up to the occasion. mostly a one-goal margin win for them but they must learn to bury chances when they have it.

True.. Liverpool have been playing 4-4-2 of recent since Diaz and Jota got injured.. It has proven effective in most cases like against city and spurs.. Also when Conte introduced his 3-4-3 to Chelsea in the days of Vicmo, it wasn't a very effective formation, but he made it work..

This is my issue with you is that you will always condone any disloyal or bad attitude from Osimehn because you’re probably an agent. Is osimehn a bigger player than Messi, Salah, Mane? Those guys rarely missed friendly games even when their club side were contesting for the most valuable trophies. Presently, Mane is injured but he was still included in Senegal 26 man squad and he is honoring that invitation. The so called Napoli that osimehn is aligning his loyalty will drop him like a hot pocket if he loses form. Let’s call a spade a spade osimehn attitude towards Friendly games is Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and he feels like he is undroppable and indispensable but he must remember History. I remember obafemi martins pulling similar stunts in the past and those stunt affected his SE records.. Sometimes, I wish SE players can emulate those Senegalese or even Egyptians

We all know Victor would have made the Afcon Squad earlier this year if not for that facial injury he got against Inter in late 2021.

He wasn't fully healed but still came out to declare that he will be available for the Afcon.

Do you have any idea what went on in the background at Naples after that tweet he made?

Victor still wanted to be there at the Afcon but Napoli came up with the Covid issue as an extra excuse and that was enough to rule out Victor.

Victor also got injured while playing for Nigeria vs Sierra Leone in late 2020. His first season at Napoli.
He missed nearly over 2 months or so before he returned and his injury partly derailed Napoli's season.

So will all these and then ADL's recent comments on African players, it is no surprise that Napoli are taking every precautive step on Victor.

But one thing is sure. Victor will be available for our next competitive fixture next year provided he is fit.

We cannot rule out the fact that Napoli want to protect their biggest asset right now with their chances of a scudetto charge ever brighter than it has ever been in recent seasons. This is their time to make history since 1990 and Victor is key to it.

I am not so surprised they didn't wanna risk him for the friendly. He is that important to them.

First of all, friendly matches aren’t inconsequential because most coaches uses friendly match to assimilate their possible future 11. 2nd of all, if every big super eagles player like Ndidi, iwobi, Bassey collectively decide to not honor a friendly match invitation, what precedence are they setting? 3, how come Bigger world class African superstars like Mane, salah rarely ever turn down friendly match invitations?? I understand that you’re privy to knowing Osimehn personally and he regularly dish you his signed Jersey. But, let’s call a spade a spade because this precedent that he is setting is disloyal, Dangerous and setting a bad example.. Mane or salah will never try this nonsense with LIverpool or Bayern and Osimehn hasn’t even won a Trophy yet in his Senior Career

Those are exactly my concerns. How can we get the ball to them in the zones where they are most dangerous as wing forwards, that is, in the final third.

I pray we won't be seeing the old stuff with Simon trying hard to move the ball from midfield to attack only to be dispossessed.

I definitely agree with your comment. With Partey and Kudus in the mix they will be up for the challenge. Most of these second grade European teams (Switzerland, Poland, Iceland, Austria, Romania, Greece Hungary
etc) find it hard defeating the African teams.
