Peter Obi Explains “From Consumption To Production” by BluntCrazeMan(op): 4:22pm On Nov 29, 2022
Peter Obi Finally Explains His Popular Mantra: “From Consumption To Production”

BREAKING DOWN THE CONCEPT OF CONSUMPTION TO PRODUCTION.
This is our envisaged path from consumption to production for Nigeria.

We have a three-tracked plan aimed at achieving the Goal-12 of the SDG, namely: “Ensuring Sustainable Consumption And Production Patterns.”

First, our focus will be on agriculture and production-centered growth for food security and export, with more emphasis on exporting finished products instead of commodities and raw materials. This relates mainly with food and textiles. Nigeria has over 84 million hectares of arable land. And barely 40% of our arable land is cultivated today.
Nigeria’s arable land is her new oil and gold.

Second, pursuant to Goal-9 of the SDGs, our administration will from its inception, continue to encourage investment in infrastructure - energy, transport, irrigation, and telecoms— in order to grow these and other sectors.

We are eager to quickly close the infrastructure gap between now and 2030. We will expand the frontiers of financial inclusion to ensure that SMEs have greater access to credit to grow.

We will work with financial institutions to improve their ability to identify credit worthy borrowers; and support inventory financing, which will help to unlock finance for SMEs dealing with high account receivables.

We will enforce the legal framework protecting foreign investors and their indigenous partners. This is the only way to tamper monopoly and capital flight.

Third, as a nation, Nigeria must look beyond oil. We therefore, intend to leapfrog Nigeria from oil to the Fourth Industrial Revolution by expanding physical infrastructure through market-driven reforms that will unleash growth-enabling entrepreneurship and market-creating innovations. To ensure sustainability and resilience, we will stop borrowing for consumption. All loans must be invested in regenerative projects. We shall pursue a drastic reduction in cost of governance and corruption; improve ease of doing business to attract Foreign Direct Investment to jumpstart industrialization; and when borrowing is unavoidable, it will be strictly for production.

It is also imperative that henceforth, we should strive to operate within available resources and strive for a balanced national budget as cost saving measures.

Whatever oil we still have will be refined domestically. These measures along with ending the leakages, -- including the subsidy regime -- and improving our tax regime should do the magic of moving Nigeria from consumption to production.

Do you know what a “Value Chain” is??

Every part of the “Value Chain”, starting from the production of the raw materials, to the “conversion” of the raw materials to finished goods, to the selling of the finished goods to the final consumers, are all parts of the “Production” line.

So tell me, someone who has a mega-store that sells all types of wares, both imported and locally-produced goods, is now the problem of Nigeria?

Let me come even...
Between locally produced goods and imported goods, which one should be costlier?
(You know the answer naa..)
(So, tell me why locally produced goods are costlier in Nigeria, despite all the customs taxes on imported goods)..

Now, a businessman who saw all these, and got convinced deep within himself that something must be very wrong with the system itself, for it to even be possible that “imported goods are cheaper than locally produced goods, despite all the costs of the importation itself, and the taxes that were imposed on imported goods”, and he told himself the truth...
And decided to come and help in fixing it.
But then, he found out that the people who are running the system are the problem with the system., and thus, he cannot fix the system from outside the system.
He must enter into the system and start the cleansing process from the inside.

The Nigerian System as it is currently, it doesn't favour small manufacturers.

Peter Obi wants to help these small manufacturers.

This is him thinking about others.

Did he say that Importation is the same as Consumption??

Why then are you talking about Importation here Naa??

The time he partnered with a local rice manufacturer up there in the North,, you didn't see that one as being productive and creating more opportunities for the people living close to the manufacturer??

Peter Obi is a fraud cc .

I have a brutal question for the so called obidient people. Please be sincere to your God while answering this question:

If Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the one who mismanaged anambra state the way Peter Obi did, will you be campaigning for him?

With mismanagement, I mean:

Washed road constructed due to erosion

Tribal and religious bigot

Strike by both medical doctors and ASUU

No visible achievement

Lies

Pandora paper indictments

Using state fund for family business; Hero beer

Sworn never to leave apga (lack integrity)

Grew poverty from 25% to more than 50%

You claimed atiku is a thief yet he was his running mate three years ago.

Claimed not to be corrupt but he's one of those that ground this country. Same or worst than anyone else.

No manifesto

No ideology

No structure

Has soft spot for ipob

In my opinion, the only way anyone will vote for Obi is because he is an Igbo man not because of his performance and that's not right because he'll be coming to throw Nigeria into security, economy, political and religious crisis. Everyone reasonable enough must help stop him.

You said you don't want a Tinubu to lead and you are voting an Obi? Sorry dear your vote is worthless than rejected votes. Because of sentimental politics some people are playing, Atiku chances is getting slimmer by the day.

Congratulations To The Jagaban of Universe.

If the environment was made conducive for local production all impoters will be exporting too. Peter Obi is a trader, not a manufacturer. His trading companies will export more if government support local production

banning importation is a drastic moves that will hurt Nigeria rather than Saving it. its like a double edged sword, u can't do one and think the other wont backfire. Have u forgotten? What result did Buhari government imposed on the borders yield? Did local production increased or saved Nigeria from the present food inflation?
Theirs no country that doesn't import goods be it the top dog, American, uk, china and co. If u must curtail importation, the country must have a sustainable production avenue to reach the entire population, good security networks for farmers safety, if non of these re present, cost of commodities will rise due to scarcity and at the same time more smugglers will Penetrate the borders to meet up demand, thereby skipping tax/custom charges which in turn affects the country's GDP. The best approach is to open boarders, goods which are brought in should be taxed and invest the money from the tax on fortifying the local production stronghold.
