ChrisKels:Of course, my brother, as Africans it is special for us. No one ever thought Africans can win any international trophy until we did in 1985 and 1993. No one ever thought African can win football Olympics gold until we did in 1996. Those are the records that is special to us as Nigerians. Trophy or nothing else. We are Nigerians! The Giant of Africa. |

Odunayaw:This is an outdated discussion. Would have added up if you were arguing this five years ago. Why do you think Manchester City got Ederson? Why do you think Manuel Neuer was nominated for Ballon D'or. Why do you think Chelsea spent humongous sum on Arizabalaga? It is because first, these guys are brilliant with their feet. |

I thought Morocco would have it easy against Portugal because of their group showings but nna men, Morocco needs to go and seriously fast and pray. Once again, Morocco are the clear underdogs. Hoping for another Moroccan miracle. Will Morocco record another first for Africa? They were the first African team to make the 2nd rounds in 1986. Will they make history again as the first to get to the semis? The revealer of all things (Time) will let us know in due course. |

Common. Their respective teams got them primarily because they are good with their feet? TheGoodJoe: |

benji93: You can not play a high line with possession without a goalkeeper that is good with his feet. That is the most important thing that is needed. With such a keeper, you get fewer shots and require fewer saves. |

daveP:The problem isn't the style of play. Possession football is one of the beautiful brands of football out there. I personally see it as the most beautiful. It totally epitomizes what team work should stand for and Football is a team sport after all. The problem lies in not having the right kind of players to suit the system. There's no Xavi and Iniesta to organize things and lob those dangerous balls into the box. There's no De Bruyne to make those crosses from the half space to the far post. There's no Fabregas to roam around the 'D' (arc) of the opponent's box. There's no Messi-Jordi Alba relationship and understanding. Today, Enrique started Llorente as a RB when there's an Azpilicueta who despite his old age, still has it in him to deliver dangerous crosses into the box. Rodri has been playing as a Centre Back in order to accommodate Busquets as a DM. Morata has been on fire in this world cup but was benched for Asensio. Gavi and Pedri are great but they're no Xavi and Iniesta. If you want to play possession football, you need the right players. There's a reason Guardiola has spent more than a billion acquiring players. |

Odunayaw:All that build from the back is nonsense. Pass ball or kick it into the air. GKs have been doing either of these two for ages. Now if the emphasis is on passing it to a player in your own half, pass it and mind your post. |
