Maybe you have been too friendly or perhaps you are uncertain about your job role and this has affected your confidence....or you just want to be in good terms with everyone especially your colleagues at work.

So you have to report your subordinate to your superiors before they told you to issue a query. You don't even know the extent of your powers so how can you influence?

You'll soon lose your job if you're not careful. You're supposed to manage your department independently and if you show that you're incapable, you will be replaced asap.

That Junior guard don see you finish, here's what you ll do, use him as scape goat, set trap for him small thing and once he falls report him to your oga, lie and put on top his head, you need to become the devil to protect and recover your lost pride, gather like one or two fellow guards in your support as witness (you need them) incase he lies.

If you don't act now that guard will work on your matter and before you know you will have enemies and from there they will remove you from there.

Don't worry bro. Keep at the job and your confidence level would improve.

It could challenging working with notorious people as subordinate. But with this, is there a way you can scheme that guy out of the company or have him redeployed? Do it if it's possible, but keep an eye on that guy. Any little thing he does wrong, make sure you escalate it.

Unfortunately, you wasn't meant to be an alpha, you are not a leader! Go get another job where you can follow instructions.
Talk to your Manager to change your position because its not you, but if you still want to carry on, you gotta have a leading mindset take control and speak with confidence, cultists, armed robber or kidnapper you are The Boss and what you say should be final except otherwise. if you can't then run away and be a good follower.

You just have to put yourself deliberately in situations where you can exercise your weakness, and with practice, it becomes strength. Your voice may be shaky today, but if you command again and know exactly what you have to say by practicing before hand, you would definitely get better. Even the best commanders once had such shaky voices.

As to your subordinate undermining your authority. This happens everywhere. Being a leader, is about reconciling your unit, to trust in your leadership. You have to convince them. You could have had that conversation with the affected lady privately, conveying your objection or reservations about her attending the event, and how doing such goes against the company policies and can get her fired. If you have done this, perhaps, there’d be little to do with the rest of your subordinates on the matter.
Don’t antagonize your subordinates, you are supposed to coordinate them, they are meant to support you. If you go down the road of the dogs or pigs, you would get torn apart or muddled.

This is all an opportunity for you to learn, I hope you use it judiciously. The little skills you learn from navigating this successfully; can certainly be the basis of subsequent leadership opportunities for you.

I have seen oga that are half dead but no one challenge them or the other able body subordinate would beat shit out of the challenger.

He just need to find a place he can recruit young men that desperately need the job and start firing the jokers. Replacement.

Don't care about anything except the work (if they are laughing, let them laugh but no one should slack in carrying out their duty). Don't give orders except in relation to work...
