Enugu Town Deserted After Nigerian Soldiers, Others Engage IPOB/ESN Operatives Invited To Fight Herdsmen In Gun Battle

SaharaReporters gathered that trouble started when the armed herdsmen invaded Isiado village in Agu-Amede community in the early hours of Wednesday.

Eha-Amufu and nearby communities in Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu State have become a ghost area after Nigerian soldiers reportedly engaged operatives of Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a gun duel.

ESN, the militant arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had been invited by the communities to assist in warding off marauding herdsmen suspected to be of Fulani extraction, who have been terrorising residents.

IPOB is a secessionist group demanding a separate state of Biafra from Nigeria. Its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention since June 2021 when he was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria.

SaharaReporters gathered that the soldiers along with security agents from various tactical squads of the Nigeria Police Force killed one young man during the shootout, which a source said lasted for over two hours.

shortly after and some herdsmen who were identified as being in possession of the discovered weapons were reportedly killed. It is unclear how many were involved.”

"However, the soldiers also killed a member of ESN during the shootout," the source added.

Meanwhile, Eha-Amufu town and adjoining communities have been deserted, a local security source told SaharaReporters, adding that "only us, security men are in the town."

So, Nigerian Security Forces have become the terrorist arm of killer herdsmen?

What a pity.

peepydelano:

I bet you didn't read the news. You just commented after seeing IPOB/ESN. Thank goodness you deleted it

This useless IPOB terrorist will not allow Nigeria to have peace. Give an Igbo man power and bid farewell to peace in the country. There’s a reason to why God denied them power. Obidients In the mud

Soldiers won't do anything when the Fulani killers wipe out an entire community. But once they hear they were harmed, troops will be deployed to go and clear the entire village.

Honestly, power needs to return to the South so that a sane president from the South can reformat the brains of the soldiers and make them understand that they are Nigerian army, not Northern Nigeria Army.

The fulani terrorists are powerless cowards. They can only kill unarmed people unawares. When you arm up and face them they flee like chickens and call Nigerian Army

Fact.
A godless group of cowards indeed.
In Igboland, they will learn a very important lesson.

Any group in Nigeria facing constant Fulani attacks should never vote for APC/PDP.
The only issue in this coming election is YOUR LAND.
Forget about your tribe, because you will not have a tribe if your land is over run by terrorists from God knows where.
Enuff said.

The herdsmen have been killing people in this village for a long time and Nigerian forces had done nothing to protect them. Why are they killing those that are protecting themselves now?

Lol, so Fulani herdsmen attack a town. ESN fights them, the military then reports that 'Soliders and others are fighting ESN/IPOB' lol.

This is why I boldly refer the Nigerian Army as a terrorist army. The news remains the same from Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Benue and everywhere fulani militias have been reported: the Nigerian army always appears to help the invading fulani militia in killing off the indigenous people.
We must ensure to sort the Nigerian army out. All ethnic groups in the army must refuse to follow the orders of fulani commanders. That is what they do to commanders from other ethnic groups whenever they want to secure the interest of the fulanis alone.
