Airstrikes conducted by fighter jets of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, have killed 24 terrorists of the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP.

The operation, PRNigeria gathered, took place on Sunday, at Tumbun Hamma, one of the identified locations for ISWAP training camps in Lake Chad.

The terrorists who were eliminated, a defense intelligence source told PRNigeria, were undergoing weapon handling and Improvised Explosive Devise, IED, training at the location for six (6) consecutive days.

In a related development, PRNigeria gathered that a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have carried out series of air strikes on terrorists’ locations in the Tumbuns near Lake Chad.

These were part of retaliatory air strikes on terrorists after their attempted attack on a Nigerian Army location in Mallam Fatori.

According to a military source, intelligence had revealed that terrorists were infiltrating into Mallam Fatori from Tumbun Fulani, and they had with them 4 gun trucks, several support weapons, and other technicals.

“Hence the need for an air interdiction mission to degrade and disrupt their activities. Accordingly, the strikes on Tumbun Fulani led to the destruction of 3 of the gun trucks hidden under trees with several terrorists scampering towards 6 boats on the shores of the Lake Chad eliminated as well, thereby degrading their ability to attack own forces,” he told PRNigeria.

Efforts to reach the Director Defence Information, Major General Jimmy Akpor, or the NAF Spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of going to press

don't be surprised most of these vehicles were destroyed during Sunday's airstrikes because it targeted one of their major camps and several vehicles were destroyed

So BHT have location too? As in their location (territory) and our location (territory) undecided

in whose country do these scumbags have location in?

How can terrorists have location and still exist ?

An assault team of 5th special forces regiment and mozambican infantry were ambushed off the mozambican coast while on patrol.
Half the patrol was wiped out by insurgents necessitating their withdrawal to a primary evacuation point.
Unfortunately due to lack of air assets to pick them up, the insurgents caught up with them a second time resulting in the additional death of a corporal in the 5th regiment special forces.

Is it not the same our soldiers face and the media would claim they ran away?

Their military contractor can't end terrorism in 3 months in Mozambique with 100+ men like they did in Nigeria.

corporal Radebe was the only casualty of the Special Forces contingent....also they are tasked with Recce and training not to outright attack and defeat the enemy, that's why additional 1000 troops were deployed.... Can't expect less than 20 recces to take on 5000 terrorist

NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES MORE COMBAT READY THAN EVER BEFORE - Defence Minister

Bashir Magashi, minister of defence, says the armed forces are more equipped “than ever before” to tackle security challenges in the country.

He said this on Saturday in Kano during the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria Day, at the ongoing 43rd Kano international trade fair.

Speaking on the achievements of the current administration, he said President Muhammadu Buhari remains committed to supporting security agencies to succeed.

“The armed forces of Nigeria are today, more than ever before, combat-ready, more equipped, focused, committed, well-trained and motivated to tackle any adverse situation with great measure of success,” NAN quoted him as saying.

He also said the president has supported the defence ministry to re- equip, re-kit, re-focus, re-energise, and motivate every sector of the armed forces to ensure improved security.

According to him, the ministry has provided high level training for personnel based on partnership agreements with several countries, including UK, Germany, Greece, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey and Belarus.

He also spoke on collaborations among security agencies.

“There is now an improved inter-service operational synergy and collaboration in joint operational environment with other security agencies, which has denied adversaries of cohesive and coordinated attacks and freedom of action,” he said.

“Several positive strides have also been achieved at the ministry of defence this time around in the areas of defence production.

“The Defence Industries Corporation has today attained new, enviable levels of production capabilities by producing first indigenous combat vehicles and has established military and paramilitary clothing and accessories factory in partnership with other friendly countries.

“Today, members of our armed services are reasonably motivated. The result is there for all to see with terror merchants now being thoroughly dealt with as the President Buhari administration is resolved in restoring total peace and security to Nigeria.”
