Thank you!!!! Na those opportunistic penalty, there really wasn't a clear goal scoring opportunity at that point. Crazy idea from me but I think the law around penalties should be looked at critically not the one where penalties are awarded for a foul when it's obvious the ball us leaving the 18 box.
Your excuse is laughable. Must there be a goalscoring opportunity before a penalty is given?

Netherlands shouldn't be playing safe. Martinez is a good penalty specialist.

I agree with you... FIFA should modify the rules for award a free kick in the box for fouls that don't obstruct a goal bound effort

That's why I said crazy, right. Thing is a lot of soft penalties are given because players got tangled or in the case of South Korea, the poor defender was simply trying to clear the ball and smart Richarlison "jumped" in front of him or is it the penalty awarded against Onyeka when we played algeria when the ball had clearly gone out of play. I know it's laughable but too many soft penalties in my opinion when the laws are strictly interpreted. Also I believe the team playing a penalty has 70% chance of scoring really.

Am talking about his earlier jobs sir. Not today's game. He was disgraced out of Man U remember. But his team isn't playing the extremely boring system at Man U when he was coach.

Romero rather. There's no how Martinez would handle Weghorst and De Jong aerially
Immediately I saw De Jong and then Weghorst on the pitch at the same time, fear gripped me. Those two no dey use their heads see ball. I knew a goal would come soon. Just deliver crosses into the box and leave them to do the rest.

Scalloni got his tactics wrong today.

All those playacting, deceptions, intentionally looking for backdoor penalties would reduce in my opinion. At least for now, a back pass held by the goalie isn't a penalty but an indirect kick in the box.

Not Argentina's day, the upright saves the Dutch. I have a feeling the Dutch will win this. Football is a game of luck as well and when I see close calls like the last shot, it looks like a dutch game for me.

2014 has repeated itself, Argentina beat Netherlands via penalties in the semis and yet again they win. The dutch didn't go down without a fight, almost gave some people high BPs!!!!. Wow, what a world cup!!!!

Argentina did it eventually, will they repeat their copa America feat where they wobbled and fumbled to the trophy. Great mental strength from the Argies!!!!!! This Dutch team are not fancy but they know how to get the job done.

My Dutch boys did me proud. Happy for their game mentality and response but I already knew Martinez would be a problem in the Argentina goal during PSO. He did it at the Copa and he just did it again.

Argentina vs Croatia. What a game that is gonna be.

I don't know if anyone sees it but could we see a repeat of 2018 WC Final in 2022? Anyway, France would have to get past England first before that theory go get head. wink
