It doesn't matter what club you play for, the league you ply your trade in, there's just this monster you transform into when you don the national lteam colors of your country because of one thing; PASSION

Those Moroccans want to die if need be on that pitch. Look at Maguire playing god-mode football because of the passion he has for repping England

Can the same thing be said for our boys? They are more interested in the hailings of "Senior man, Senior Man" they get in every hotel they lodge in Nigeria than they are in playing

I'm not even surprised if thorough investigations reveal that some players have bought and secured a spot in the teams starting eleven or 23 because I don't understand why our players attitude stinks to high heavens

Na force them dey Force you to play for your country? There are many ajegunle boys that told me that if they were given an assignment to man mark Messi in a game for naija to secure national team spot, they don't mind dying and shedding their blood for it (I know this is a bit extreme but you get my point)

It's high time we invite players based on passion and form in the national team colors than our overgrown "Senior Men"

It will not be better from you any players that bought his way in the team. Both him and the bribe receiver will not know peace. The club they ply their trade in will sack them and they will become church rats for making a nuisance of our football. Amen!!

Yea, I said ir
By the time what you propose is done and the team is full of low quality players, it would be the same Nigerians who will accuse the NFF of ignoring players playing in the best leagues for just about any player.

Why PK takers don't learn from best PK taker in the world, Kane.

Joebie, I have been an advocate that all national team salaries including coaches, players and other coaching staff shouldn't come through NFF anymore

There should be a separate budget for it. It shouldn't even come under the sports ministry. Like, RMAFC should allocate a portion of
Budget to paying coaches straight from the executive.

My advice has some ripple effects:

1) You would see football administrators no longer fight tooth and nail for positions in the NFF. After all, no coach salary to chop

2) These coaches are seen as civil servants and are liable to face Nigerian law for infarctions against our football. As a coach, of you're caught taking bribe, then EFCC/ICPC can investigate you because technically, you're a civil servant. Also, you should be willing to submit yourself to periodic audit every 3 months. Same law applied to player bonuses

3) A law that makes owing coach salary a criminal offence liable to extended prison time would then be put in place because there's no reason to owe them anymore sin e their salaries are now budgeted for anymore. Same for player match bonuses.

One.more thing, NFF function ought to be pure administrative and not fiscal. Times have shown that they can't be trusted and are dishonest with money.

See my solution can work if duly implemented.

Your takes..

Please I need you guys takes on this please
FIFA has a strict no government intervention in football and monitors the FAs to ensure that they are independent. Your suggestions will lead to full government involvement in the NFF and eventually FIFA ban

Coaches cannot be civil servants. You seem to suggest that they be regarded as civil servants in order to come under the investigative jurisdiction of the EFCC. Well, the EFCC investigates all manner of economic and financial crimes and that cuts across both private and public sectors.

Giroud meets Roger Milla: Ageless Goal Bangers

Olivier Giroud is the 2nd player aged 36+ to score at least 4 goals in a single edition of a World Cup after Roger Milla of Cameroun in 1990 (4 goals at age 38).
