TheSuperNerd:From my observation olisah ndah is very good at keeping the ball, distributing it, passing etc. I was shocked when I saw him play at afcon. He is very intelligent and technical and might even be able to play in midfield. But he plays in South Africa and people will not see past that. He will prove our passing if given a chance. I think poseiro has plans for him and he was called up against Portugal but had a slight injury |

TheGoodJoe:There are always exceptions to the rule, such as JJay , Mikel Obi. But they are not the rule but exception. Morocco succeeded beyond all expectations because they welcomed in players of Moroccon heritage from across Europe. They gave them a sense of belonging they didn't ask them for Bribe and inducement. Mbappe tried to play for Cameroon but they wanted inducement. That disappointed experience turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise. If you go right back maybe 4/5 seasons ago ,l talked about my friend Michael Beale, he was the u12 development lead at Liverpool FC academy. He was formerly the assistant manager at Sao Paulo Brazil. Before he took up that position. Why would a club invest so much resources in youth football. Without development talent will come to NOTHING. After the age of 13 it becomes very difficult to teach and ingrain naturally technical skills, First touch, key movements, anticipation, dribbling, passing range, etc, etc If you think that what happened in the past in Nigeria you can replicate it for competitive advantage now. Then you are out of touch with reality. If I took you to see some of the current U12/13 players in Chelsea, you go open mouth . Without that level of good quality coaching your talent will not develop. |

Danielnino00:No he has not, he plays as makeshift wing back with no pace. Every league he has played in he has been essentially basic to below average then you want to convince me that he gets to national team and then he becomes Van Dyke. There is a reason he is playing in the lowly Croatia league he is simply not good enough for a better league. |

Osayi has been playing in the retirement league after turning down options in the EPL. Now he is generating interest among EPL clubs why because he is outstanding. For those other players who have become permanent residents in the Turkish league it's pretty obvious they are not good quality. |

komekn:We come from different spheres of life and must have different views. Your own area is known because of so much media coverage. However, in Nigeria, we do not have the facilities like the Europeans but for instance, in the U17, we have done better than lots of Europwa teams with far better development facilities. I am not saying the facilities are not important. What I am saying is that despite the lack, we need to find away to measure up. |

They have eaten well. They go to good schools. They are not lacking. They have full kits and facility. They are ahead of you. The only thing you have is training. Do not play with it. Take it seriously and it can change your lives. |

komekn:The reason why Babawo Mohammed and Kashimawo Laloko found Mikel, is because they were willing to look. The reason why Westerhof found Amokachi was because he searched. The reason why Sinclair found the likes of Peter Rufai, Taribo West, Finidi George, Emmanuel Ebiede, Richard Owobokiri and a host of others was because he was willing to find them. We can not start looking for millions of dollars to develop talents. We need to find the special ones available and give them a platform to develop. |

TheGoodJoe:We have scouted comprehensively and continue to do so. Our under 17 and 20 are current WAFU Champions. The two teams that will play in the final tomorrow took players playing in the top leagues. Tomorrow the best player won't be someone playing in division 2 or non league football somewhere. It would be someone playing in Laliga or the French league. Chukweze, Oshimen, Simon, Onachu, Onyedika, Onyeka, Sanusi, Awoniyi, Dennis, Moffi, Iheanacho, Success. and many more were scouted too. So I don't understand your point? |

Thank you for making this simple. I want everyone here to pay close attention. The snippet you posted tells us that Garrincha was dropped and Pele brought back in. Facts. Obviously, Garrincha played the second game, so that word would be suitable. But they didn't mention why it was done. This is not unusual. You don't always capture every detail in an article. Articles are usually written with a theme in mind. The reader also selects articles based on what he's looking for. I actually mentioned in my previous post that Garrincha was injured even before the tournament. It's in his biography, but you elected to ignore it or you didn't just know. I go for the latter. . And it's ok.Remember also Garrincha was 33 and Pele 26. Even today a 33-year-old is all but spent, not to talk of a 33-year-old player injured player in 1966. That would be a pensioner volunteering. 4 years prior when Garrincha was still at his peak everybody interested saw what he could do. Of course, a 26-year-old injured great would be preferred over a 33-year-old injured great 8 out of 10 times today not to talk of 1966, especially if their roles overlap. You don't need any special coaching skills to make that decision. Pele was part of their Success in 1962, yes. But how much? Not statistically significant. Sorry. He played the first game and scored. He got injured in the second, which ended 0-0. In 1958, Pele was very impressive no doubt. but he was only a major part. 2 or more people can be joint major shareholders in a company. One person doesn't have to tower over everybody else. Meanwhile, I also posed a challenge. Please provide the information that you have that isn't on the internet and evidence for it. As a senior researcher, you would agree with me that these kinds of conversations are usually more fruitful when they are fact-based. .My point is there's no information you can provide that isn't on the internet. There are loads of articles on those Brazilian sides. And it's very likely no one has read them all. It's ok. Everyone can learn from anyone, even those some would classify as 'dumb'. Even with the same facts, experts may disagree on what it means. It's ok. More like we agree to disagree. By the way, I don't understand why you constantly resort to jabs and insults. Nobody really knows anybody here. Just enjoy yourself. The link and first snippet tell us why he was dropped. You are welcome. .https://www.unusualefforts.com/portugal-brazil-1966/ TheSuperNerd:

Meliforme:Ejuke can switch play with long balls? You must be related to him. The boy got his chance at AFCON and misused it. The only game he started he was the worst player on the field. He played against CAR and Cape Verde away what special stuffs did he offer? You will play a player that dribble unnecessary and lose balls in dangerous area in the middle? Thank God you are no where near the SE bench! |

benji93:This is the thing with trying to sound so smart. I narrowed it down using your own article below. Now, where exactly in your article does it state that Garrincha was unavailable for that game through Injury? You said he missed the third game because of injury. That is what your original stance said. Now you shift it to before the tournament. Your article shows he wasn't still nursing that injury. He had recovered but was not at the same level. Guy wasn't Injured. That is the whole point. It even clearly states asks the question about why the coach didn't bring on Garrincha... proving his availability. But then there goes that Garrincha question.... you are unaware that Substitutions weren't allowed at the 1966 WC? It was clearly stated by me and mentioned in some of the articles I shared. Fifa themselves recount this very Match and say Garrincha was available but dropped. He couldn't be brought on because Subs were not allowed. Your own article spoke about Garrincha's state before the WC in England NOT During the WC in England. His alcoholism, his jail issues, his injury, all were before the WC in England. He started the tournament. Garrincha played the 1st game. Played the 2nd game. And was dropped for the 3rd game. He was on the bench. In a bid to stand by your misinformation, You simply couldn't understand what you even posted. Garrincha didn't miss the game because of injury, he did because he was simply dropped. That is what your article insinuates rightly. Again, you are welcome. You got owned by your own article even after I made it so simple for you. ![]()

benji93:Your words Benji93...... a part of your original post. You never put it as Garrincha being injured going into the tournament. You are just twisting and changing it to that narrative right now. Besides Garrincha's injury episode had come and gone before the tournament began. He recovered but just wasn't the same "form-wise". Bottomline is he was available but was already a spent force by then. You clearly stated that Garrincha was injured in the 1966 WC. You followed that up with, "he didn't play the last game and they lost". What were you insinuating? That he missed it due to injury and they lost. Fifa records show this is a lie on your part. Also, you called my description of Pele being roughed up as Shalaye but it is well stated in almost every records of that Brazil 1966 WC adventure. Consider this Checkmate. Any other noise after this is just what it is, Noise. You are welcome. AGAIN. ![]()

Are you kidding me? I don't provide information I don't need. The fact that I didn't bring the issue of 'no substitutions' up doesn't mean I don't know. Sorry, I don't just dump information to make others think I know a lot. It's not useful. It's not my way. Simple question. Does the article say he was injured even prior to the tournament? I usually don't cut articles short to reflect my point specifically, because I want everyone to follow the context. I have now attached the specific section. They list a host of issues Garirncha had, including meniscus and tendon tears, and went further to say that not even surgery could bring him back to a decent level. Very simple. I also edited my last post. Remember also Garrincha was 33 and Pele 26. It's easy to understand that in 1966, a 33-year-old would find it hard to recover from an injury. Even for Pele himself 1970 was his last. He was spent. Years of cosntnatly getting kicked would do that do you. I wrote this in my second post. I have no idea why you missed it. Was it intentional? ![]() 'Na you suppose do research now. His biography says he was injured going into that tournament. They kick Garrincha all the time too. The guy na dribbler. I am not sure why the 'they kicked him' argument is useful here. They kick normal players not to talk of transcendental players. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garrincha' TheSuperNerd:

benji93:You don't bring info you don't need, my ass. Yet you don't see how it is relevant to this convo? Your article threw up the question of why Garrincha wasn't considered from the bench and the "no subs rule" back then is relevant to explain why that couldn't happen. Okay, let us kill off the discussion for good. Remember your original words. "He was injured in 1966". Those were your words. Now your article clearly states that he had a bad spell at Corinthians after leaving Botafogo in 1965. This means that his spell at Corinthians happened after recovery from his surgery for his meniscus injury, jail issues and relationship misadventure. This was definitely around the period of 1964-1965 as a fine timeline guesstimate. After that, Garrincha was still balling but wasn't the same form-wise. This is similar to CR7 today who always never came back from a particular knee condition called Tendinosis which he has carefully managed since 2014. Should I also term him injured for every game he played since then? Do you see how funny your logic sounds? The whole point is you are wrong to say Garrincha was injured in 1966. You are wrong to even suggest he wasn't available for the last game due to injury when infact he was available but just dropped. Just admit it man... you went up against the "Senior Researcher" (in your words) and just got OWNED. Checkmate bro. Rest it.
