Sometimes having the best players around does not automatically transform to success. It's possible they wouldn't have gotten this far if all the injured players were around. A poor team may take them to penalty and win in the knockout stage

Trying to remember when last a goalkeeper came clutch for his national team at the world cup the way Martinez did for Argentina. Funny enough I think it was another Argentinian keeper Goycochea who performed heroics for them to reach the finals of the 1990 world cup. Nigeria has learned the lesson the hard way the importance of a good goalkeeper.
