Very common with people from the west most especially Lagos.

They prefer buying food to cooking at home. My colleague Kemi in the office then will say I cook and bring food to the office because I don't have money that I am managing the resources I have with me.

Every effort to convince her that in the house where I grew in Warri it was a taboo to buy food from food vendors fell into deaf ears.

She will conclude by saying you can take the boy out of the village but you cannot take the village out of the boy.

I simply conclude by saying no Yoruba woman can cook my kind and taste of food and still have the boldness to come and sell it. It will be too expensive.

It would have been better if you addressed her based on your observation about her but you made it a Tribal thing like you are sure it's a thing among all her tribe without a single exception, whereas I am Yoruba and i grew up in a family who had the same mentality as yours, even as a guy I prefer to cook my own meals and also pack my food to work when it permits. So desist from making personal decisions a tribal thing.

The house helps go feed dogs with chickens, noddles and biscuit in the morning, na around 11am Dem go begin ask me stupid questions like " Oga wetin you go eat"?!

The idiots go later bring Coke and sausage rolls for breakfast, no afternoon food, night na shawarma! inside a supposedly Billionaire home.

Nobody tell me to Japa back to my trenches where I eat, Amala, Eba, Iya-Hakeem Rice, Eja-kika, Ewa-agoin with Agege bread etc.

My experience was when I was around 20years or so I went to a family relative that are wealthy so by 11:30am they will still be contemplating what to cook or eat and inside me I will be reignning curses on them yet for afternoon we no go chop until night again ..

It gets to a stage I told my dad am not feeling fine dat I want to come back home where we eat bread and beans in d morning around 8/9am good rice for afternoon and night na correct eba with egusi soup �..

You missed the entire point of the post, I don't know if this is due to your illiteracy, tribalism or acute poverty

Obviously you seems not to be able to relate with post, rich people don't buy food outside like you painted out there

Most of these rich folks seems comfortable with light food, 2 slice of bread with 2 tumbler of tea is what my former CEO refers to as breakfast

Most average and lower class eat heavy, the rich eat light, when you visit the rich for a week no one will tell you to go back to your trenches after feeding on cabbage, carrot and egg as breakfast

There was no where he said yoruba women can't cook, he said he had to cook his own food because buying the type of food he loved to eat would have been too expensive and rare to find.
