Anyways was thinking over the rus ukr war My understanding is future wars are going to be won by countries who have a strong MIC which can replenish weapons and ammo at the word go with a robust logistics to support till last mile Artillery is still the god of war but needs to be integrated within OODA loop for greater effectiveness and faster response. And for accuracy otherwise will result in stalemate Expensive high flying long endurance drones are as of now r best suited for peace time roles. But inexpensive long range suicide drones will definitely make waves Tactical attack drones will have increased usage and utility Without overwhelming Air power conflict will stretch long more or less Persistent overhead watch needs to be there , be it air or space , domination of EW spectrum is also a must Etc etc And last but not the least clear cut aims wrt the war |

While the international community calls for the disengagement of Rwanda alongside the M23 rebels, these photos taken on Dec 21, 2022 by drones in kibumba show the presence of the Rwandan army on Congolese soil. I love the fact the Rwandan troops supporting the m23 rebels are now aware that they are being watched and it's no longer business as usual.

213 bodies recovered as troops pound Zamfara bandits Governor Matawalle condole with families of law abiding citizens killed in the cross-fire By Ezechukwu Chidozie, Abuja War against terrorism Tuesday recorded significant gains as no fewer than 213 bodies, comprising that of terrorists and their collaborators have been recovered days after intense exchanges of gunfire between Nigerian troops and terrorists in some communities in Zamfara State. According to a Military embedded news source, the military unfortunately equally lost 10 gallant personnel while some civilians were also killed when bandits fled toward the communities, resulting from the military unslought against them. PRNigeria had Monda reported that the air component and ground troops of Operation Hadarin Daji recorded a major victory after eliminating terrorists in Malele Village of Dansadau Local Government Area of the state. Aircraft from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and ground troops of the Nigerian Army, sustained a well-coordinated joint operation against the terrorists since last Saturday. Inteligence sources informed that terrorist activities in the area have been heightened due to the lingering crisis between Hausas and Fulanis over the devouring of farm produce thereby making the area very volatile, especially in Malele, Maigoge, Yan Sawayu, Ruwan Tofa, Mai Awaki, and Zama Lafiya, all under Mutunji district of Dansadau Emirate Council. A defence intelligence operative had told PRNigeria how the security services mobilized their troops in launching series of attacks and airstrikes against those warring bandits coming from different parts of the country. “Both the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) operations are yielding fantastic results in the area with several terrorists being eliminated as the battle is still on. “Bandits who were fleeing from NAF airstrikes ran into a small village called Mutunji to take refuge. “After ensuring that civilian lives in the village were not at risk, the NAF aircraft undertook a precision strike at the exact location, while the ground troops cleared the fleeing bandits in their escape bids,” the operative stated. But in an update Tuesday, credible sources in the community disclosed that 10 soldiers paid the supreme price, while their colleagues pounded the terrorists. “At least we counted 213 bodies of the bandit terrorists and their collaborators. “Some civilians too were killed in what the military called ‘collateral damage’ when fleeing bandits hiding in the communities. “The attack on troops occurred when the troops, with the support of local vigilantes, were navigating the terrains for counter-attacks.” In his condolence message, Governor Bello Matawalle, through Zailani Bappa, his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the families of victims earlier caught in military fire against the marauding bandits. “I wish to, on behalf of myself, my family, the state Government and the entire good people of Zamfara state, extend my sincere sympathy to those who were injured and the families of those who died as a result of this collateral damage,”the Governor said. |

Another NATO order for Rheinmetall Denel Munition! 19 Dec 2022 Major order from a NATO customer A long-time NATO customer awarded the South African subsidiary Rheinmetall Denel Munition a framework contract for the supply of 155mm ammunition of the proven Assegai product line. The order value is in the mid three-digit million EUR range. The framework agreement was concluded in December and has a term of five years. The five years framework contract provides for the delivery of 155mm M2005 V-LAP (Velocity Enhanced Long Range Artillery Projectile) projectiles, M92 modular charges and various fuzes. The 155mm M2005 V-LAP projectile features a high fragmentation effect as well as extended range through rocket and base bleed technology. The rocket assist V-LAP projectile together with the Assegai M92 tactical charges features barrel erosion and muzzle signature reducer properties. It is designed according to the NATO Joint Ballistics Memorandum of Under¬standing (JBMoU) requirements and qualified according to STANAG guidelines. The ammunition is already deployed in several NATO countries. “We are proud to support our long-time NATO partner with Rheinmetall‘s world leading long range artillery suite. Framework agreements provide long-term ammunition supply assurance and a flexible system for procuring ammunition over the course of a year”, stated Jan-Patrick Helmsen, CEO of Rheinmetall Denel Munition. “The rocket assist V-lap together with the tactical assegai charges M92 with barrel wearer reducer and muzzle flash reducer will support both the soldiers in the battlefield and the logistics and maintenance troops.” The M2005 HE V-LAP projectile is at the forefront of modern artillery technology and provides an extended range interdiction capability against soft targets and soft skinned vehicles as well as the disruption of logistical supply lines beyond the close battlefield. The M2005 projectile can be used with suitable NATO standard fuzes and JBMoU compatible modular charge systems and can be fired from any compatible 155mm weapon system. The base drag reduction and rocket assistance extend the range performance of Assegai with no special operational and logistical requirements. Jointly owned by Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (51%) of Germany and Denel (Pty) Ltd, Rheinmetall Denel Munition produces a wide variety of ammunition such as 155 mm artillery ammunition, 60, 81 and 120 mm mortars, 40 mm grenades and 76/62 mm Naval Rounds, aircraft bombs and mine breaching systems. Rheinmetall Denel Munition also builds ammunition filling plants for export and manufactures missile subsystems. https://www.rheinmetall.com/en/rheinmetall_ag/press/news/latest_news/index_36928.php

GreenandGold:Nope. I think a NATO country is replenishing inventories, after transferring their own previous stock to Ukraine. My guess, either Netherlands or Germany. By SA law, can't sell anything to either Ukraine nor Russia whilst they're at war. That's why a billion's worth of arms exports to Poland has been suspended. They need to give the assurance it won't be diverted to Ukraine. And yes, we're being absolute hypocrites about this: we continued selling to Saudi and the UAE knowing full well they were using those SA defence products in Yemen! |

kabe1:This is a highly commendable move. I'm also glad by the lack of pr . I'm result oriented. In as much that we're are focusing on space technology research and development , we need to prioritize another sector of defence which will win us wars in the next decades. Main Battle Tanks development. We got only two MBTs in the planet that might reach our requirements and we need to seriously ensure we develop something that fits our geography and defence needs. |

Stormtrooper11:Nawa oh... So you guys really exist. Results are perfect, but PR is part of the result process. If people don't know what you're doing, how would they know you are achieving results. If the Antelope does not begin to tell it's story, the story of the hunt would always favour the Lion. |

Lurker4Long:Our stance is stupid, honestly... but it's more about what the ANC decides than what is good for the economy... I mean, we have systems that Ukraine needs, and they could be easily supplied competitively.
