INEC Official Admits ‘Seeming Over-Voting’ In Osun Poll by tsirin(op): 10:35am On Dec 22, 2022
A Deputy Director, Information Communication Technology with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Abimbola Oladunjoye, on Wednesday said there was ‘seemingly over-voting’ in some polling units in the July 16 Osun state governorship poll.

Oladunjoye, a witness for INEC, the first respondent in the matter, who was under cross-examination by the petitioners’ lead counsel, Mr Akin Olujinmi (SAN), was shown her witness statement, where the number of accredited voters in a polling unit in Ede South contradicted the number of accredited voters on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System report presented by INEC.

The witness, in her deposition, had said the number of accredited voters in Ward 4 Unit 7, Ede South was 388, but in the RBVR, being a BVAS report tendered by INEC, the number of accredited voters was put at 313, saying there was seemingly over voting by 75.

The counsel also referred the witness to paragraph 21.36 of her witness statement, where the accreditation figure was put at 830, but on the BVAS report, the accreditation figure was said to be 793.

Oladunjoye in paragraph 26.7 of her witness statement also said the accreditation figure in a unit was 402, but on the BVAS report, the accreditation figure was said to be 263, saying there was seemingly over-voting by 139.

But under re-examination by INEC’s counsel, Prof Paul Ananaba (SAN), Oladunjoye explained that she used the word ‘seemingly over-voting’ because over-voting could not be established until when comparison was made between figures on Form EC8A and the physical data on BVAS machine used for the election.

In 2018 or so, APC beat PDP in an Osun State guber election many people thought PDP had already won after it was declared inconclusive.

Thanks to BVAS and IRev - PDP beat APC in 2022 and even celebrated the victory before INEC announced the official winner.

No amount of intimidation should make INEC not to use BVAS and IRev in this presidential election. The world has fully embraced technology and we have to keep pace with the trend.

Lol. Just take the one in the bivas and jettison the rest. Cos the one in the bivas is the accurate one because of its bimodal verification
Re: INEC Official Admits ‘Seeming Over-Voting’ In Osun Poll by Obaofaba:
Oyetola ti wole.

Our mandate must be reclaimed. It's one thing to lose an election fairly but when it is lost to a certificate forger and the election is marred by overvoting as testified by the umpire, then it becomes unacceptable.

APC won squarely the bayelsa governorship election yet never had a chance to be sworn in even for a day because of forgery.

Hypocrisy is accepting the process then and faulting this.

Oyetola's victory is always sweeter just like 4 years ago and the dancing governor might cry for another 4 more years.

Anyhow, I'm still sceptical about INEC's capability to handle an election credibly.
For there to be one, these lapses must be completely overcome.

2023 is going to be a defining year..
INEC shouldn't joke with these processes.

Hope it's not going to affect total results..

Justice must be justice...

Even if Ede results are cancelled for a rerun....PDP will likely win, because those are their strongholds
