They know their customers they can blackmail na.

I am owing like 6 apps, and i promise to pay when i am richer than Elonmusk, so help me God.

Nonchalant grin

Aren't you scared about the possibility of them forwarding your details to the public? Don't you care about your reputation?

Anyhow sha, country hard! I don't judge no one. If they send message to your contacts and they call you to ask you why you borrowed ask them if they would've helped you assuming you asked them for help.

These loan sharks are having field days without challenge. Every now and then government will back like Ekuke dog yet nothing come out.

Because the government is powerless when you enter unregulated space. These loan apps are operating without any regulatory oversight so they are virtually free to do anything they want.

This is one of them o. Your high interest rates are illegal and neck breaking, that's why your business is tagged creepy. Some will even lend you without applying and will be forcing you to pay together with the high interest. Greediness!
"Your high interest rates are illegal 'n neck breaking"

Where do you come from?

If you will take a loan from me, it will be on my terms.

I'm a business organization, not a charity foundation.

When you saw that the interest rate was neck breakin' why didn't you desist from borrowing?

If you have taken the right decisions in life, you should have people in your circle who will borrow you without the neck breakin' interest rates.

You deserve every blackmail you get if you borrow money from loan apps.

You read the terms and condition.

You knew when the date is due and what the interest is.

They didn't toy with you when you wanted to borrow.

Now, it's time to pay back you start crying that loan apps are bad.

Y'all ought to be taken to the streets and flogged 2 strokes for every #1,000 you borrowed.

I will never borrow a man money I cannot let go. Even when he makes the money he is supposed to repay me, he remembers that he needs to upgrade his phone rather than pay me back.

The loan apps should wind up or use the collateral method. Drop your phone before you borrow.

Ingrates!

Shut up, my friend.

What terms and condition? Did they put blackmailing in their terms and conditions?

In fact, during the sanitization program we held around 2021 which played a huge role in bringing government to the realization of the massive damage they were doing, we fully read at least 10 terms and conditions from these illegitimate apps.

Many of them claim that they use your personal information to assess your credit risk. That they don't save customer details to their servers. But that was a big lie. Because as soon as you default, you will see that they didn't follow their own terms and conditions. That they actually save personal data to their servers and then distribute it to miscreants called recovery agents to use anyhow, which contravenes the data protection law.

Nothing justifies blackmail.

Continue to run your mouth till you see your loved one's picture being posted about as that of an HIV patient. Or when a sibling of yours is driven to suicide.

How will they borrow the next man if the first one refuses to pay up?

Did you agree to the terms or not?

If you will borrow and run, borrow and run admitting to yourself that you've scammed an organization due to the hardship in Nigeria.

Even after not payin' back, many debtor will still come online to paint the same loan app that lend them money (which they do not plan on paying back) when none of their family members could.

It's hypocrisy.

Those people are stupid for not collecting a collateral before lending any nigerian money.

We all knew how this people evolved.

First they beg you.

Then they beg you more.

Then they beg you more to please pay them back their own money.

Then they begin to cuss and use force through blackmail.

If you pay up and just stick to the terms, they will be willing to borrow you next time.

See how many bast**** are on this thread claiming
"Loan apps are stupid. I borrowed from 15 different loan apps and I won't make my payment. Let them do their worst".

It's so sad that the worst they can do is call your family members and expose you.

There should a clause that will allow them come over to your house with law enforcements and take whatever valuable of equal amount to the money you borrowed.

All loan defaulters are ingrates and hypocrites.
They deserve to be flogged.

Exploit?

The app did not install itself yet you said you are being exploited.

You chose the amount to borrow and consciously agreed that you will pay back on so so so with interest, yet you say you are being exploited.

I repeat, go and borrow from your friends or any of your family members. Leave loan apps and you won't be exploited.

I and my circle have taken the right decisions in life, we will never stoop so low to scam a loan app.

Many of those saying they won't pay back are those who have been defamed.

In fact, I encourage them to never pay back. Nowhere in their terms did they say they will defame or blackmail people.

When you defame people, you break your own terms. Why should the defamed then be obligated to continue to respect the terms?

Did you say you have made the right decisions in life?

My friend, I hope life does not teach you a hard lesson.

People like you who lack empathy need to sit down and read stories of people who have been defamed.

Let me give you a scenerio. Someone uses your mom's details to collect loan. 6 days later, the miscreants start threatening your mom. The next day, you wake to see your mother be dragged as a LovePeddler to all the contacts on her phone.

Or, a sibling of yours collected a loan. Repays before time and deletes the app. However, she does not know that her payment did not reflect. She suddenly starts getting threatening massages. Before she understands what is happening, her pictures are all over the place with inscription of fraudster on them.

Like someone I knew. I woke up to a text message asking me to check my WhatsApp for bad news. I almost died of hypertension. I opened WhatsApp, only to see a colleague's picture in a WhatsApp message sent to me. It was tagged RIP. I knew immediately who did it. Loan recovery agents. I was the one who specifically told the man never to repay that loan. A loan which is not even 24 hours due. They start counting a 7-day loan a day before they offer it, so you have to repay in 6 days.

My brother, you need to be empathetic so that should the wheel come around and find you helpless, people will not mock you.

Those people are simply taking advantage of the poor economic condition of the Nigerian poor masses to fraudulently enrich themselves. They're criminals! Check out the huge interest rate they charge people and the short duration of time.

Great decision taker you call yourself? Just remember that life can happen to anybody at any time. No be by decision taking o. Sha one thing about people is that once they find themselves in a relatively good economic condition, they feel they achieved such due to their astuteness. Even when some of them might have been helped up by benevolent individuals! Even those that acquired money through fraudulent means also have the same feeling.

Honestly bro.....
On a personal note, I hate these loan apps,
I know most of both my senior and Junior colleagues during this last ASUU STRIKE that got severally disgraced silly just because they borrowed money thinking FGN would soon pay up....

And their dirty tactics in recovering such loans/monies.... They most often than none even spill the defaulters details even as much as BVN...
It's horrible to say the least...

They saw the huge interest rate and the short duration and still went ahead to borrow?

If not for the fraudulent intent, a simple calculation would have made many arrive at the conclusion that they won't be able to keep up with the terms and therefore look elsewhere.

But no, they still went ahead to borrow.

Good!

The anger should be directed towards the banks. If I've been banking with you for long, you ought to give me a sizable loan credit, either monthly or yearly.

But instead, it's the loan sharks that are profit minded you want to send to relegation.

Not completely true.

Most of these people borrow with no intent of paying back.

One was saying they should wait till he is rich.

My empathy goes to the loan apps that just want to make their profit.

30 days after the agreement someone refuses to pay you back what will you do?

You can't!

Why?

Your friends and family members won't borrow you money.

Bank won't borrow you money.

You friends, banks and family members know y'all don't have a good reputation of paying back.

The only apps borrowing you money without much stress, you are callin' them devil because you don't want to pay them back despite you reading the terms, being aware of the interest and when your loan is due.
