All this pointing of fingers is only a justification. The policy is the worst and biggest of all failed policy of the cbn in the history of Nigeria .

There are sometimes that will never work here. Not every policy should be copied from other countries. The same thing with coins.

The cbn need to understand cultural differences. We are Africans with different environments and mindset. Even the electronic transaction has it whole failed and bigger problem. My transaction of two different bank is running into 3 weeks now gtbank and wema bank. The money has nor be resolved or returned. So many Nigerians do not believe in cashless economy. The infrastructure is not just there yet.

Absolutely! Cashless economy will never ever ever work in Nigeria, Nigeria cannot provide ordinary electricity let alone constant running wifi and IT for cashless transactions. Most nigerians do not believe in cashless transactions, they do not even trust their fellow citizens not to defraud them through cashless transactions. Most nigerian businesses are run by cash. NIgerians preffer cash and carry business to avoid scammers and fraudsters.

If by middle of January banks are still paying customers with old notes, then the policy is a joke and total failure and it will be certain that the deadline must be extended. I can bet with anything that it will be extended till middle of next year. I am yet to see any deadline in Nigerian that is not extended except employment portal.

CBN should with immediate effect retire all agbado bank heads , else the CBN effort will be in vein.

PMB and Emefiele can huff and puff all they can, but his administration will go down as the most corruption glorified regime in history. Ordinary bank managers are now calling his bluff. Even though the citizens of the country are ready to comply with the nonsense currency redesign and the accompanying drama cos they've got no choice, the big wigs of corruption it was designed to work against have quenched the fire before it started. And they want another kingpin of corrupt practices to take over from him.

I have always known that if the plan of the redesigned currency was to stop vote buying by politicians it will fail woefully.

It is only politicians who are "JJC" that will be affected, the real politicians who move bullion vans of cash have systems in place to use and exchange their old currencies for new ones.

And that system runs through the bank MD directly. Nigeria is too corrupt to be saved by one poorly thought out plan.
