My Fellow Nairalanders, I beseech guidance from your bottomless well of knowledge. Please turn up for me.

I need all the guidance I can get on how to get my primary school leaving certificate. I wrote my common entrance in the year 1999. I passed the examination and was admitted into a state secondary school in Lagos.

While I was in the higher institution, I lost my mum who was the custodian of my documents, this was in the year 2011. After I lost her, I went looking for all my credentials and documents I had left in her custody. I found all but the primary school leaving testimonial. This was where my problem began.

At the time I wrote the exams, alot was happening with us as a family. At some point we could not meet up with the financial requirements for the exam in the primary school I was attending, so I was withdrawn and my mum took me to a school owned by her friend to write the exams (School's name I do not know).

Since the discovery of the adsence of the testimonial in 2011, I have been plagued with frequent worry.

The biggest challenge is that the primary school through which I wrote the exams cannot be traced (mainly because I do not know the name), all forms of contact with the proprietor of the school (my mum's friend) had been lost since 1999. It has just been crazy. At some point my dad tried to go through the center where I wrote the exams (Ojo girls cantonment), only to meet a dead end.

I do not know what to do at this point. I would appreciate every guide or support I can get.

Thank you in anticipation.

Firstly, Opportunities.

At the moment, my field of practice is purely technical and my employer didn't request for it.

But, I also had missed a couple of opportunities in previous years. Some very reputable organizations include it as a requisite. I hear it's used as a tool to guage age by HR (Not really sure), but I have come across a couple.

Secondly, Esteem value.

I feel a great dissatisfaction knowing I wrote an examination but may never have evidence to prove I did. I also feel that in the near future a necessity may arise for it, be it political or economic.

I therefore think it's best to make hay while the sun shines as a stitch in time saves nine.

Thank you.
