Roboto11:Valid question, the honest truth is even though our policy makers and politicians are too inept, we have to come to a logical conclusion that our insiable appetite for anything foreign(products, services, education, health care, tourism, investment, pilgrimage....) coupled with our poor export driven economy is the main reason for these inadequate FX. 1 Like 1 Share |

Deltavariant: We have to change our mentality as a people. Our idea of wealth creation should be export driven. |

Roboto11:And how do you propose that to work without stable electricity and sound monetary policy. The CBN gov is just clueless on how to really drive the economy unlike Sanusi. 1 Like |

BloomingDale: Did you just say "A whole CBN?" Like it's angels working there?? They used that eNaira to steal from unsuspecting Nigerians. It was a parody arrangement which I was definitely aware would happen from it's inception. |

Stevosty:he has a point but the pricing factor is what drives people to buy international. I am up for stimulus for local business and products but for the genuine ones not the ones masquerading and using products to endanger lives You buy Powerbank in a year in swells up it’s either we make quality or we don’t make at all You will see a device that’s priced high here but fairly affordable online. Shipping is no longer to the door they want you to come to the office anyway so it’s even great to buy local sometimes. Everyone can make money there is enough space it’s not one or the other. Without a foreign bank you can’t do business internationally forget dom card that you will sign and never see physically lol scam Shops should please allow for transfers the less cash one uses to avoid scam the better. The old money na that one sure pass USD and pounds is the future. Contact me for Cruises Worldwide like big boys and big girls that you are. No more penny punchers. We should be aiming to open up our ports for tourism or cruising. Other people embraced ideas. Do you know the new Mastercard and Visa cards don’t have numbers or a name anymore and some banks automatically add a card when you sign up. But you can only sign up abroad. These extra things are seen as added cost here but are the deciding factor in other countries. It’s time to embrace digital but not the scammer type. |

iamsolasoul: Importation doesn't bring forex. It needs forex and so makes the dollar for instance more expensive. |

Re: GTB Suspends International Transaction On Naira Cards by iamsolasoul(f): 12:02am On Dec 31, 2022 |
Roboto11: That’s for those importing to sell in large quantities. They will still sell in Naira and import more and pay high exchange rates we just have a problem remitting payments back on time maybe due to understaffing because one person wants to eat every bodies salary. Most people will like to save that extra 10k on that iPad even if it means risking it being stolen by the post office but now you can order and ship to GiG but I recommend you ship a lot because of the high cost of delivery we are talking 15k for a dvd Most banks abroad collect the money immediately and explain the exchange and remit immediately. Thank God for innovation |

iamsolasoul: The point is , if you import more than you produce, your local currency would lose value. |
Re: GTB Suspends International Transaction On Naira Cards by iamsolasoul(f): 12:06am On Dec 31, 2022 |
Roboto11:you are not even producing that’s the thing so allow those who do to make money Computer village still has to import computers yes I’d love to buy and support local computer production but will my fellow citizen sell me something free of Trojan horse? What will happen is armed robbery will rise again because people need the goods to sell if that is not the plan lol Let them mount camera on that train and bridge o cause your computer will be in Ibadan before 5pm |

Paypal should work. But you can only spend, not withdraw. So if you load your PayPal account, you can use it for purchases online if your merchants accept PayPal. 1 Like |
