TBH money spent on the military was well worth it, as South Africa still benefits largely from it. What about now? No doubt Anc has been screwing up since 2008. We've experienced a decade of regression. But guess what, we're nowhere near what things were in 1994. Our current inflation rate of 7% is half that in 1994, for example. Our human development indices, whilst slipping since 2008, are vastly improved from 1994.

People forget that from 1996, when the ANC govt finally dug us out of junk status since 87, we experienced more continuous growth than in any period in SA history, until Zuma came along in 2008.

Apartheid apologists of course will tell you that SA then was a 1st world country. But that's because those stats counted only 4 million whites. What they'll also not tell you is that the wealth of that segment of the population has actually tripled since 1996. And that the middle class has actually expanded, with millions of black Saffers joining that strata.

None of that excuses the many current fvck-ups of course, but simple binaries aren't helpful in understanding complex phenomena.

The Nigerian Air Force has shown no interest in this Aircraft, it's just fan-boys like us that keep wishing we get them.

However I really doubt NAF would purchase this any fighter jets soon, especially with the purchase of the M-346F/A.

Same thing I've pondering about this while. The F-7Ni Airguards were extensively upgraded and together with the JF 17s, they've formed a squadron. The A29 tucanos will be at the forefront of COIN operations with mop up support from combat helicopters and drones, while the incoming M346FA will serve as back up for the light attack and fighter jets on ground. So there is no assurance that combat aircrafts will be coming in anytime soon apart from the already ordered ones.

Pic3: AIDs death rates fell after apartheid. Mind you, the apartheid government did not respond to AIDs death rates because it disproportionately affected blacks

Can you show statistical evidence on how South Africa has regressed post apartheid?
