UK is currently facing serious economic crisis and some other few crises too but why do Nigerians keep flocking UK .. There are other by far better countries in Europe that offers everything way better than UK..

You will be surprised to see the population of Nigerians in London..you will think you are in Lagos ..Nigerians just scatter for London..

Try Germany, Netherlands. Denmark, Norway Even France ..this countries ain’t bad either
those countries u mentioned don't have English as a major language, we don't have colonial ties with them, there's strong cultural footprint in UK already; u can easily find Nigerian restaurant and food

This is why lots of Nigerian immigrants go through hell to be in over-saturated places like the UK and the US. The world is huge, you cant limit yourself to anglophone countries because you don't want to learn a new language.

And if you actually want to live a rich life, learning a new language is one of them. Language is the vehicle in which cultures relate to the outside world, you miss out big time if you speak just one, or even a few.
I think the anglophone world is richer in popular music and arts

Africans are not loyal to colonial country that colonized them

Nigerians like to bash England
But like America

Did Nigerians beg the English to colonize them?
The English picked your ancestors as slaves and you are loyal.
Just so you know, they first came in as slave traders before the issue of colonialism came up.

The English picked your ancestors as slaves and you are so stupid enough as to be loyal. You are so brainless.
Just so you know, they first came in as slave traders before the issue of colonialism came up.

I have nothing wrong with it, just saying

When Nigerians think of uk

They think racism, too many Nigerians, boring

But prefer America

But many Nigerians living in the UK actually do like it

It sucks, we are not taught to love our colonial master

No one is trying to be a British wannabe. English is needed in UK and Nigeria has English as it's official language. Also, isn't it your brothers n sisters that troop I to UK cos of bad economy and isn't it your father and his colleagues that are at helms if power that misruled the country?
I know Japanese, Germans etc speak English anyhow but their economy is good. They don't Japa anyhow

Bad economy isn't peculiar to Nigeria alone, it's a current global phenomenon even in your heavenly UK.

English speaking countries are still one of the best countries to migrate to but talk of salary structure, Germany, Italy and Netherlands is good if not for the language barrier but ,sacrifices has to b made to get all dis, learning another language dat will help u secure a permanent residence isn't a bad idea, that's d reason why most Indians , Egypt find it very easy to reside in the Arabian area....Arabic and Hindi...while few Nigerian who spent time tonlearn dis languages are not doing bad at all....the way Nigerian flood UK now,we go soon takeover UK sef but sincerely speaking not a bad idea to learn another man's language a and stay with them...l

Learning new languages especially for people going through study route shouldn’t be difficult. Just like in Nigeria, our education curriculum includes Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. Same can be applied over there, just add the national language to your course curriculum

Attention
This comment is not meant to derail this thread.
Please if any of NL knows who bears Aremu Tunde Raheem, his Belgian international passport was mistakenly sent to a colleague of mine in Osun State from a source and we have been making all efforts to trace him since November 2022.

Likewise, if we have someone who is with a Bahamas passport, bearing Oluwafemi.T. A., kindly hit me up here so that I can collect the passport from you and also link you to the source where yours could be, if you are not Tunde.

Thanks a lot. I am using this medium as a last resort since all efforts to trace Tunde and someone with the Bahamas passport prove abortive.

Why not create a thread and appeal that it be moved to Front Page?
That would be better than sidling from thread to thread.

Someone might recognise the name if it is on front page.

Thanks, bro. The thought came to my mind but I don’t want to really make it publicity stuff. The owners may not really like it.

I always wonder , with the amount of Nigerians that go to UK , how come you hardly spot blacks or Africans in UK football stands

The answer is simple … WORK ! WORK !! WORK !!! To pay bills …

You will always be a second class citizen and a mini slave in the west , some privileges are meant for dia citizens alone … smh

Whats your problem with people who travel? Why don't you stay in your shithole and let people move wherever they want to?You aren't the one to tell who is a first class or second citizen. Do what works for you Nd leave others to theirs. You seem to be investing too much energy in this thing.Face your hustle baba

I’ve been to France, loved Marseille and most of the people speak English, although not fluently.
Cool people and great food but too many Arabs. I’d rather live in France than UK. I regret not focusing on my French classes back then. i for get more options and could live in Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and others.

I thought french people don't like Arabs

Have you ever tried to watch any of the top clubs play? It is mostly not enjoyable. It can be so noisy and most of the people there would have been drinking all day. The loud chants and swear words put me off.

Also, you will have to pay higher to get a strategic seat where you will see clearly. What about the time to travel there, the traffic after match? It is hardly worth it. You will be better off watching it at home.

Also, most club supporters live close to the stadium. They usually support their local clubs so it is easy for them to watch the matches. Finally, it can be very expensive to get a ticket if you have not bought a season ticket.

Regarding this work, if you are in a good profession and settled in the UK, which a lot of Nigerians are, you dont have to work and work. Personally, I have been working flexibly from home since covid.

The privileges I enjoy here I wont get in Naija. I even enjoy positive discrimination. They treat me better. I get put in interviewing team even though I am new in the company cos they want diversity in the team and they are trying to prevent unconscious bias. I get more opportunities at work as a black lady. So, I am no slave at all.
