Nice! All these while I always assume it's Ford over Honda in terms of "off-road" and rough terrain regardless of type (SUV, pick-up, saloon etc @ Ford )

Pls guys I need your advice.

Is Toyota venza 2012 4 cylinder a reliable car?
Fuel economy, availability and affordable parts/maintenance are points I'm considering.
Thanks

Getting tired of seeing so many "2018 Range Roger Evoque or 1995 Toyota Corolla, which one should I buy?" posts.

The goal of this thread is to hold all the comparison posts, and also for those looking for car recommendations. [s]Especially since Nurey no wan follow directives. [/s]

When looking for a recommendation, please state your budget and the purpose of the car. Factors you're concerned with (fuel economy, luxury, design, drive ability, tech features, etc) should also be stated, as well as any questions you may have.

Hopefully the Cartalk gurus will have an answer for everyone. I'll try as much as possible to help with the little I know, too.

Generally mazda issues you may face in Nigeria is parts availability and cost next would be competent hands to handle repairs, they are sweet when still new with low mileage.

I believe its mazda CX7 you are asking about, I would just advice against it you can still try cx9 because it's a ford edge in another design would be easier to maintain than cx7 whose engine is turbocharged

4.5m should get you tokunbo highlander 2002 to 2007model years

4.5m can't get you a tokunbo RX330 not to talk of 350, nah naija used got you for your budget.

Not too sure of MDX price but just maybe the 4.5 can get tokunbo 2007 or 2008 sha.

For me the RX is the best choice here reliability well balanced with luxury and having a moderate fuel.economy.

The MDX is a superb machine for racers and those who want performance if you can fuel it

The highlander is just your normal run in the mill vehicle has all the works but lacks that refinement in luxury compartment.

The only other vehicle I can recommend is the infiniti FX35 it packs a punch among the bunch. Fuel economy is same as the MDX it is reliable and luxurious too and not bad when it comes to movement, parts are available but body parts are expensive though readily available

Please help me decide between a Hyundai Elantra (2012-13) or Accent (2012-13) model as my first car. I was told the maintenance cost of the accent is higher because the parts are rear in the market. I intend using the car during the weekends for bolt services.

I'm also considering the Honda civic, but I don't the exterior of the car.

Buy Elantra bigger and better, still economical with better and more reliable engine than accent

Honda civic 2002 to 2005 or 2006 to 2009 naija used any model year that catches your fancy.

Nissan sentra 2002 yo 2005 also good

Probably you can get toyota yaris or Echo less than 2005 for that price. They are good though a bit cramped

What about Matrix/Pontiac Vibe?
Can't they fit in here?

Honda crosstour
Toyota venza

Reliability and efficiency

All are good but Lexus takes the dial some notches more with premium/luxury fit and finish while the others are just mid class.

2007 Toyota Highlander (Hybrid)
or
2012 Ford Edge

Both Nigerian used. Both around same price (2.5m)

Kindly advise

Both options are even dicey.

I would have picked the Highlander, but the hybrid option(run ø),lack of qualified mechanics to handle it,is a big issue.

So,i would advice you go for the ford edge, its even more recent. But make sure its always handled by skilled hands.
