LOL..... . . . . . Éko o ni bajé... So Lagos people still remember their history. I thought the history and culture of Lagos started with one Oba Ahmed Tinubu, the one who migrated to the area we call Lagos today in 17BC and established it. .. I don't see anything on the logo representing the founder, CEO and board chairman of Lagos, oba Tinubu.

Akinfemmy:True no Egbas in Lagos...no Egbas but there are ilajes predominantly in Ondo state that are indigenous to Lagos state... Instead of some people to learn from what we are posting, they are throwing tantrums...They should continue. Lagos is the pride of the Yorubas in Nigeria,Benin republic, Brazil etc..If the whites were not gaining from Lagos , they won't have made it the capital of the country at that time. |

totit:actually, the egbas that are in Lagos came from Ogun In 1867, there was tension between the Christian community and adherents of the traditional religion in Abeokuta, so when some European missionaries from Abeokuta were departing, the native Christian converts - fearing that the dominant traditionalists would descend on them in the absence of their European protectors, begged that they take them along to Lagos. on getting to Lagos the then oba of Lagos refuses to give them land to stay on but suggests that they ask his brother the Oloto of Oto. The Oloto agreed and gave them land from oyingbo to somewhere just before yaba began. Here they build st. jude's church and school |
| Re: What Each Item On The Lagos State Logo Represents by totit: 2:56pm On Jan 12, 2023 |
IAMPhoenix007:Came? Did I read that right, came? Do you know the amount of Ijebu's and Egba's land or Ogun State that was annexed to Lagos state? Anyway, glad that your story no get source sha. The Olodo above that I quoted in the first couldn't even explain the meaning of EbuLe Egba |
| Re: What Each Item On The Lagos State Logo Represents by Akinfemmy(m): 4:58pm On Jan 12, 2023 |
totit:Stfu You're wrong So because it's called abule egba. You think it's an egba land abi? That means okomaiko belongs to igbo and all places called sabo in lagos belongs to hausa people. ![]() |

I hope the people that are fond of calling Lagos a "no man's land" must have learnt somethings from the logo?... Hope they know it was not formulated by the strangers that just wanted to turn themselves into owners of the land by all means? If I may ask them, can they even identify ewe akoko any where they see it? Moreover, if they need to carve as they've been agitating then, will they take Lagos along? |
| Re: What Each Item On The Lagos State Logo Represents by totit: 6:42pm On Jan 12, 2023 |
Akinfemmy:Okoko or Sabo and all other ones you mentioned cant be found in any history because are either named after a tribe or ethnic. Anyways, Glad to know that you have no defense after all. ![]() When a failure failed and has nothing to prove he resorts to insulting because he's hopeless. ![]() I am here for historians like me and fellow with home training not some louts ![]() |

totit: ![]() Dude, who started the insult. You called me olodo first. I told you to enlighten instead of doing so, you started ranting. I guess you've not seen a source to backup your made up shit. FYI, I'm a bonafide lagos boy, moreover I've a book on the history and politics of lagos and I've never come across this gibberish claim |
| Re: What Each Item On The Lagos State Logo Represents by totit: 6:53pm On Jan 12, 2023 |
Akinfemmy:Insult? Nope, I was only angry that you using a Yoruba I.D, a proud Yoruba at that will not under the history behind Ebule Egba. Now, for your info, Alagbado, Imeran, Abule Egba, and the environs are part and parcel of old Ogun state before they were annexed into today's Lagos same goes for Epe and some parts of Lagos island. |
