Quite unfortunate for the HR person to reject you based on your speech deficiency. It's most likely anxiety-induced stuttering though as you probably speak freely when among friends or alone. If this is the case, I would recommend taking Xanax any time you are about to get involved in stressful or anxious exercises. It will calm your nerves. I recommended it because it works for me. I stutter a lot and I'm this close to being a company exec in the US.

So anytime I know about an hitherto able bodied fool get disfigured, I don't hesitate in mocking them back and even double it especially if the person is known for such despicable behavior! Now, in customer care (just like in every professional role), there are requirements. Good written and verbal communication skills are important. Stammering is a disability here. You have to attend to many phone calls without failing on great communication. We all know that stammering typically gets worse under stress. So, it is a problem in customer care.

I've learned to speak slowly and its working for me especially my dialect but speaking English is a different ball game.

Quite frankly, very few companies will employ you for positions where you have to deal directly with customers. To an extent, customer care representative help instill the professional image in customer, hence, companies are very intentional about such employees. They vet prospective employees

Why does he want to be a customer care officer when he knew his shortcomings?

A stammerer wants to be a newscaster? Who does that? Customer care officers are front desk officers. It's not for you by reason of your situation.

True. Just put in more conscious effort, you can completely stop it even when you are angry. I know someone whose own stopped completely so that's why am confident about it.

Knowing your speech defect, you went applying for customer care job?

Would you be happy if you called a customer care line and a stammering staff responded to you?

Please look for a job role that suits you. Nobody wants a stammerer wasting their time when they are visibly stressed and pissed when they want to vent their displeasure about a service or product. The HR staff wasn't wrong. Every applicant has were he is fit to work. You don't put a visually impaired fellow to work on machines or the production floor.

I want to learn photography and videography so I can quit teaching. It's not as if I love teaching. I do it because it's the only job available. My speech impediment has limited me in so many ways. I know where I'd have been if I wasn't a stammerer.
