That's the price and as at 2014 it was sold 11k to 11k500 or highest 12k.

But with their change economy has thumble.

Century stabilizer of 3k now 36k

Imagine, more than 10x the price.

This is just a plot to disrupt the forth coming elections nothing more, how do you change a currency and refuse to distribute it to banks.

Almost all the banks at transamadi and artilery axis are not dispensing money. Banks are still doling out the old notes saying they haven't gotten the new ones and some idiots here are talking rubbish about not using the old ones after 31st .

Offcourse its people who have stashed the new notes that are saying this, its obvious someone ones to disrupt the forth coming elections in February 2023.

There was no basis for currency change, as we are now seeing, cosmetic fixes by CBN wont fix the local economy.

Which losses deposit old notes except you have a motive for wanting to still use the old notes

So, if they deposit the old notes, they should go and eat air?

Don't you know that they will withdraw money as well, and the ATMs are still dispensing old notes as we speak?

What challenge are they talking about....Banking halls in Lagos no see crowds for deposits na.

Or, what are they talking about? Are banks overwhelmed to receiving the old notes

You people are not getting it. There are people who still depend on physical cash for transactions.

When these people go to deposit their old notes, they still end up withdrawing old notes at the ATM.

What loses? Don't they have accounts? If yes go and pay the old notes into ur account.

if No why? go and open an acc.

If none of the above u are a criminal

I paid old notes into my account and still ended up withdrawing old notes today.

Many of you are just being blinded by propaganda.

You think this has anything to do with vote buying.

Sit down there. You would be surprised that the bulk of the new notes is already in the hands of politicians while the likes of you will suffer from the consequences of excess shortage of the naira.

I think the circulation has improved. Somehow, I have a feel that the bankers are deliberately sabotaging this effort...maybe to force extension.

Let's see how it goes

I hope there won't be disaster next week, I have called my mum to deposit all the old notes she has at POS and stop accepting 200 naira and above at her shop

I will visit and give her some new notes to hold body till this madness is over.

Maybe politicians are hoarding the new naira notes for vote buying in the forthcoming elections, the reason for the scarcity
You can't hoard what isn't available. The cbn knows what they're doing. See as new note go yapa after the deadline. It's just like saying banks don't have dollars...iro nla. They're only acting on the CBN's directives. The withdrawal limit too has hampered things for them

It will definitely be extended cause I am yet to get my hands on any of the new note here.

people are hoarding it, not just politicians...so as not to be stranded after deadline...you will be surprised how it will emerge after 31

As for the atm still dispensing old notes, don't get caught with the cookie after the deadline....don't rush to the ATM to see if they have changed the notes...naija banks may put old notes there and say they 'forget' am there, refuse to take it in again from you, already debit your account...it will be to their gain.
Re: Old Naira Notes: Nigerians Fear Massive Losses As Deadline Draws Near by Johnken1234: 5:56pm On Jan 24, 2023
I don't know the kind of professionals we have in that sector. There are so many ways to go about this cashless economy rather than what CBN did. CBN just wasted funds in trying to print new naira notes. The correct thing they would have done is to allow the old 200, 500 and 1000 notes in circulation, print more of 100 naira notes, let 100 naira notes be the highest denominations. then any 200, 500 and 1000 notes received by the bank will never go out. Mandate banks to be paying 100 notes, ATMs paying 100 notes, give a reasonable time for the retrieve of the old 200, 500 and 1000 notes. You will see people will be forced to go cashless by making transfers knowing the implications of carrying 100 notes with them which will be very bulky.

It's cashless society by force... Some shops no longer collect it. They advice you to go to POS or do mobile transfer.

I don't always like my bank or government to know who am conducting transaction with.

This is a once in a life time opportunity for POS operators and scammers.

How does this changes perve a way for an opportunity for POS ?
Analyze your perception sir

yesloaded:

It's simple

Reject old naira from 29th of this month

Take every old naira to the bank on 30th

Anybody who insist on doing business with you must transfer to you else no business

It's not even advisable carrying huge amount of money up & down

Let's discuss about scarcity of petrol plz

Exactly my Brother. No big deal
