A strong man of Abia politics and Board of Trustees, BoT, member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Prince Benjamin Apugo, has solicited support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, saying that his integrity, competence and proven track record of achievements have put him ahead of other contenders of the seat.

The APC chieftain who addressed newsmen yesterday in his Ibeku Umuahia country home, also drummed support for the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Alex Otti, saying he has the capital to rebuild Abia.

Prince Apugo debunked media reports that he had endorsed the Abia APC governorship candidate, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, dismissing the report as misleading.

He said he never gave his blessings to the governorship ambition of Emenike, and cautioned against any attempt to use him for political glory.

Apugo accused the APC-led Federal Government of neglecting Abia State, saying there is no federal presence in the state.

” APC has not done anything for Umuahia and Abia State where I come from”, he regretted.

He also said that the APC had not done much for Ndigbo, and urged voters to vote based on the competence and integrity of candidates and not for the party logo in the forthcoming polls.

Apugo took a clean sweep of the Igbo political elite making uncomplimentary remarks on Obi, describing them as myopic and self-centred saboteurs.

He urged Igbo voters not to be discouraged because of the unpatriotic activities of such elements who he said could rarely visit their communities.

According to him, Obi’s presidential ambition and candidature have brought respect and honour to the Igbo race.

He recalled that this would be the first time Nigerians from different ethnic, religious and political backgrounds would be rallying behind a presidential candidate of South East extraction.

Apugo urged Ndigbo home and abroad to come out en mass and vote for credible candidates of their choice in the forthcoming elections.

Why won't he drum support when Peter Obi IPOB terrorists and Obidîots gang have threatened to behead, cook and eat him like they beheaded the Anambra LG chairman.

Peter Obi is a full time member, financier and supporter of IPOB terrorists group - Simon Ekpa undecided

Northners will vote for LP and PDP in presidential election mark my word.

Christians will not vote for APC.... look at what is happening in kaduna MUZLEM/MUZLEM REGIME

No student will vote for APC....our future in danger should APC govt continue in Power after what they did to Nigerians we will never forget...

Lekki MASSACRE 😭😭😭😭😭 Still fresh in our mind.

APC may win slightly in Southwest.

last presidential election APC was controlling the six states in south west but the results of the presidential election was too close to call, PDP even won Oyo and Ondo with seating APC governors. See data below:

Ekiti (APC 219,231, PDP 154,032)
Osun (APC 347,634, PDP 337,377)
Ogun (APC 281,762, PDP 194,655)
Oyo (APC 365,229, PDP 366,690)
Ondo (APC 241,769, PDP 275,901)
Lagos (APC 580,825, PDP 448,015)
Total (APC, 2,036,450, PDP 1,776,670).

The people that are making noise, thinking a certain party is administering the state, will give an edge. I just pity them. The performance of APC had not even helped them but they are convenient to make noise on state election matter. For years now, APGA had been winning Anambra Governorship election but at the Presidential level, PDP had been carrying the day.

No doubt, Tinubu will want to win big in south west, then throw around dollars and naira but I doubt he will get pass 55% of the votes with his money because people are angry because of hunger.

The final phase of political realignment and jumping away from the moribund ship of emilokan have started.

How can any sane and rational humanity be rooting for a Tinubu presidency given what this nation has passed through under the Buhari-led APC govt Tinubu boldly claimed couldn't have come into existence without him leaves so much to be desired.

Igbos have been known to turn an ugly situation to a positive one. See how they rose to prominence once again after the devastating civil war.

I’m not happy that the PDP governorship candidate in Abia died but I think God has finally remembered Abia; and if the price was for that man to die so that the entire state can be free from bondage, then so be it.

Alex Otti is the next governor of Abia.

Let’s see if Abia can have fresh air for once since 1999. Their ordeal is now a matter of national emergency.

There’s no need to comment on Obi’s presidency because that is already a done deal.

"Christians will not vote for APC".

While religion plays a role in our politics, the way some of you generalize is strange. Not all Christians have an obsession with their religion when it comes to common sense.

The average Nigerian is empathetic and empathy trumps religion for him. I'd give you two examples. In 2011, Christians and Muslims voted massively for Jonathan partly because of the way he was treated when Yar'adua was bedridden. In 2015, Christians and Muslims voted for Buhari despite all the things said against him being a religious bigot, having no certificate and mocking him with the death of his daughter. The average voter does not like these.

Now the issue of Southern Kaduna is just ethnic domination and not religious as you try to paint it. Shehu Sanni said as much that Muslims are killed as well.

Let me tell you what many voters will remember about Bola Tinubu, including true Christians. They'd remember he fought oppression from FG, they'd remember he appointed Ben Akabueze in Lagos State, they'd remember that when politicians like Atiku, Ribadu and Buhari were being persecuted and rejected, Tinubu gave them his platforms and stuck his neck for them to the end.

They won't care if Tinubu is APC or Muslim-Muslim, but look at his heart and vote for him.

So before you make statements about Christians not voting Tinubu, also remember that there are liberal Christians and other Christians who may have enjoyed good governance under Tinubu’s influence who'd trust him to lead well.

Such will never say pim on social media.
