Faiththatworks:Unbiased and smart observation from you , however what you are asking has been done already . They deducted the over voters from both parties hence the difference in the new election results |

Workch:INEC(Buhari+Aregbe) ganged up against Tinubu (Oyetola et al) to compromise the election in favour of Adeleke to wane him(Tinubu) down, buh they miscalculated. |

So in conclusion adeleke is not longer the governor of Ogun? Is that what the tribunal is saying?? |

Workch:Is it today that you know that that particular law(act) exist? Why are crying more than the bereaved? Or is it because it worked against your party that you started looking for the perpetrator of the over voting? Calm down, the dancer is gone! |

Koralords:Better loose hope now. Election tribunal no de pass any judgement before may 29. And who ever win between obi or atiku go retire all these judges one time. Na today? |

g4gerald:That's what d court did. Rerun will be based now on the margin between d winner and d runner up. |

OmoOshodi:The only thing that will happen is INEC will say the machine cannot go round all the polling units in nigeria as such we can't use it then we fall back to our normal voting system |

Peacecore:Tribunal just cancelled, no rerun was mentioned in the judgement and of course the affected/cancelled votes is much more than the new margin |
| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by Peacecore: 5:40pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
tunapawizzy:Let's wait for d true copy if d judgement. It will be clarified buh d highest Adeleke can get in d court is rerun in doz affected polling units which will still favour Oyetola. Ade is as good as gone. |

Workch:May be I should reframe it. When they say OVER VOTING, they don’t mean the ballot paper thumbprints were more than accredited register alone. What they mean is that: the figures recorded for a party is higher, when compared, to/with the numbers of ballot papers found in a ballot box for a particular party. Let me use some hypothetic figures as example: In Ede 1. Accredited voters in Ward A = 500. This will include both PDP and APC. 2. Thumbprints of ballot (the paper), when recounted at the tribunal showed that: PDP = 300 APC = 210 Total = 510 3. The INEC Result Sheet signed by all party representatives and INEC staff showed that PDP = 310 APD = 210 Total = 520 Here, over voting has been established because it is the final Result Sheet that shows the voting. Ballot (the papers thumbprint) and lists of aa credited voters are only referred to in cases of when election results are being contested. In the case above, the way they were able to know the party that over voted was that the tribunal compared the numbers polled on the Result Sheets recorded for both PDP and APC against the recounted ballots and, at the same time comparing it to the recorded total of accredited voters before the election proper started. |

Honourable1901:yes there was over voting and those votes had to be deducted from both parties. The question is shouldn't a rerun be conducted since outright cancellation would be disenfranchising the people from that part of the state? |

Peacecore:Okay I didn't notice that, despite that the verdict is still not acceptable. |

| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by Fucklove(m): 5:47pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
The reliability of the BVAS machine needs to be questioned. How possible is over voting without accreditation? The entire votes shouldn't be canceled, rather we check to know who the real accredited voters voted for, and deduct the extra votes. My opponent can actually work with the officials, bypass accreditation and over voting would take place in my stronghold since the court of law will later cancel and disenfranchise the real voters. This Electoral law is nonsense. |

Faiththatworks:You made a lot of sense in your post. PDP should study this judgement very well and take a stand and know which sides will suit them well to follow otherwise, they may not be able to prove their case. |

nairavsdollars:I'm from Osun state and can tell you for a fact Adeleke & their wealthy friends outspent APC 2-1 in that election. But why PDP over voted still beats me, they would have won but it would have been a smaller margin of less than 2000 votes. The absence of Aregbe in the APC campaign and other political issues opened Oyetola to losing the likes of ilesha & Ife North which otherwise he wouldn't have lost. |
| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by Peacecore: 5:53pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
jackcanfield:The justice is in order according to the electoral acts. The highest Ade can get is rerun in those units which will still favour Oyetola on a normal ground. |
| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by sweetgala(m): 5:58pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
Faiththatworks:The electoral laws Nigerians clamoured for calls for cancellation where over voting takes place, so your submission as to what Adeleke must do can't hold. The appellate court may grant a rerun on the terms of " disenfranchisement " of legal voters in those voting booths, it would be a tall task, but INEC officials responsible must be charged to court |

Islie:His stay in office is not going to be a mere 62 days. He can't leave the office until after supreme court judgement. The same thing happened 4 years ago when Adeleke was declared the winner by the tribunal but Oyetola never for once left the office. |
| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by Rajiolaade: 6:10pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
Misterone:outright CANCELLATION of affected units results is the position of the law. |
| Re: Why Tribunal Sacked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by IamAsiri: 6:14pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
Faiththatworks:That happened because the polling unit at Ede South LG had over 3000 registered voters and INEC refused to divide the PU into 5 or more polling units, probably because of what they had in mind. All Ede residents were determined to exercise their voting rights on that day regardless of all forms of intimidation by the thugs. This was clearly pre-planned. |

This judgement can't even stand at the appeal . If inec didn't comply with the electoral laws gowon does that concern adeleke who is a participant .? Is like someone punishing a student who obtained his waec certificate from waec. Is the responsibility of waec to punish the student if they believe he obtained it by fraud ...I believe the tribunal is biting more than it can chew ..worst case is the cancellation of the election from area where over voting is noticed afterall it wasn't the candidate fault. Thereafter order fresh election with serious supervision... |
