My 2008 toyota camry immobilizer was diagnosed damaged when my car wouldn't start. I was advised to do a bypass by converting my brainbox to freecode.
That things has actually happened to my car as well, at last one rewire told me it was timing that is wrong with the car, after the mechanic done the timing every comes back to normal.

Just try and fix it at all cost or else you won't be able to make a down payment to generate electricity for a roasted corn 🌽 and do gazelle gagaraga, balabu bulaba,if you don't get it forget about it.

Return vehicle back to factory settings.
I concur. Manufacturers do something. Nigerians will always think they know more than the manufacturer. Everything inside a car is made for a reason. It’s always easy to diagnose and repair a car if everything is in factory setting.

What do you mean by Kazeem?

If what you mean is yoruba mechanics then I'm glad to tell you that they're light years ahead of those quack criminals in Abia or Onitsha.
That's one thing with you afonjas. Always reading meaning to everything. May be your name is Kazeem.
Kazeem is a common name used to refer to an inexperienced mechanic irrespective of his tribe then you are here talking trash.

SHAME ON YOU

First, what's a "brainbox"?

Do you mean the Electronic Control Module (ECM), and why are you using it synonymously with the immobilizer?

Anyway, get an OBD2 diagnostic tool and you'll find out what your problem is. The ECM hardly fails wholesale, being the central system that manages lots of other sensors integral to your engine/powertrain system. It could be one or more such sensors have failed.

Brain box frustrated me that I started catching witches and wizard and assumed my car was under a spiritual attack.
Forget about those bypassing or downloading of brain box or Belgium brain box, is all try your luck. Once you start it, you will continue to face the problem.

Solution-
Go online and contact the manufacturer of the car.
The moment they reply your message, your problem is half way solve.
They will request some of this information from you,
1. The engine number of the car
2. VIN
3. The model of the car/ year is was manufactured
4. The number on the brain box
etc etc.

If possible take a picture of the brain box and the car and send to them.

They will then send you the details on how to buy a brand new brain box for the exact vehicle from the manufacturer.
You will pay with the details they will send to you, they will send you the original brain box.
My own took about 2 weeks before it got to me.

Please make sure you are on the car manufacturer website and not an agent website. Be very convinced you are dealing directly with the manufacturer. If is American cars, their manufacturers don't waste time in replying to their customers. Their customer care line is 24/7.
In a situation when they cannot ship the brain box to you, they will direct you to contact their service center here in Nigeria.

Good luck.

OP, what you described is symptomatic of a flooded vehicle imported from abroad.

Such cars will look "clean" and drive excellently for a while but when problems begin, you may never be able to resolve them.

Flood water, that could be salty if car was in a coastal area that was flooded, could have damaged and corroded wiring and compromized other electronic components.

I hope this is not your case. Good luck.

Your blood too hot. He didn't mean no insult. Kazeem mechanic is a GENERAL name given to roadside mechanics intended of a good mechanical workshop. You know those mechanics that deals in repairing new cars that haven't been tampered with by roadside mechanics. They're expensive but good. Sometimes you'll pay as much as 20k just for check-up and diagnostics. Not everything is about Tribalism. Just as every suya man is Aboki even if it's Igbo or Yoruba. Every tailor who sews at roadsides are Obioma.

Question is, do they still produce parts for cars as old as 08 Camry ? Just asking. Your answer is an eye opener though.

To you everything is tribal. East or West.

I feel really ashamed for you. You should have asked before exposing your ignorance. Kazzeem refers to a road side mechanic and could be from any tribe. The onus here is someone with half baked knowledge.

This one don jump into Igbo- Yoruba war.

I guess if I mentioned Yoruba demon now you will also begin to foam in the mouth

Seems like your whole ignition system has been compromised, never bypass a system in a vehicle especially from 2005 models upwards. Once you do it affects your car computer, you need to either change the entire ignition system or reprogram back your car immobilizer.

There are people here who can do all these for either free or a small token. Why go through such long process?

.The problem is very simple, look for aftermarket immobilizer chip and plastered it to the key , programmed and return its initial ECU or brain box, the automatic switching off when hot will stop

That is how you know a frustrated fellow and his co-travelers. Somebody is talking about automobile electronics management system which requires input from experienced professionals and users. He is marketing OBI. He is a crude and uncivilized trader.

Car diagnostics experts, automobiles electronics technicians and experienced users are expected to give their contributions he is busy with junks.

That shows the core attributes of their leaders. If Ayo Adebanjo and Okupe have not supported OBI at inception followed by old unintelligent Obasanjo who travelled with OBI to London to scuttle the second meeting of G5 Governors with Tinubu at London some months ago, nobody will be hearing of OBI today.

Coincidentally, Ayo Adebanjo, Doyin Okupe and Obasanjo are from Ogun State. Yemi Osinbajo who was used by APC cabal to destroy Tinubu in APC is also from Ogun State. I am also from Ogun State, I know all of them are valueless as far as Ogun State is concerned and they can never have value.
