The debate is so good... I feel the candidates were not asked the critical "HOW" question. It's easy to say, I will do this and that..but "HOW" is very key.. especially project financing. Although, they all argue Lagos have enough funds to handle most of the things needed to be done...I am not convinced enough on their "HOW". Mr Doherty sounds more mature and convincing, and I think he has more background experience that stood him out of the three. Mr Jandor knows Lagos inside-out from his responses, giving area specific solutions. He knows what Lagos needs. I think he was a bit disappointed Sanwoolu didn't come for this debate, he attacks him, even in absentia. Sanwoolu's presence would have marketed his candidature. Mr Rhodes also have some lovely idea, very eloquent, but, not sure his ideas can truly get Lagos working. Summarily, just like I said earlier, it's not a good thing for candidates to shun debate, but, Sanwoolu's absence tonight, didn't give this debate the oxygen it requires to give wider audience and help some of these candidates win more votes. Sanwoolu would have been exposed to lots of gbasgbos....his handlers just saved him some headaches...it's a "good" political decision for him to abstain |

Calibrator:if not for APC brigands and their thuggish attitude, I would have loved APC to hold Lagos for some time. PDP is just weak here . If Ambode had maned up for another shot at Lagos state governorship position on another platform, that dude would have had a super comeback. For now PDP may not handle those who would scatter Lagos, should they win. All the fateless urchins and miscreants are in APC Meanwhile, any day Tinubu takes a bow to be with his maker, Lagos will definitely explode |

adioolayi:U get the point. SanwoOlu presence would rather make him loose vote to those who can't lace his shoes. It's easier to attack from outside. I love how he chooses not to give them the necessary attention. Politics is a game. And u have to study the room. |

TheOgaBoss:I just read the news in link you shared.. That's Politics of Hatred. Like, the hatred was clearly spelt out in bold characters. Let's dissect and analyse the whole scenario.. 1. The venue of the fracas was supposed to be around the same ground where PDP had their campaign. 2. The convoy of the PDP Governorship Candidate was directly attacked. 3. Guns were later deployed and used in the same fracas, and people were killed. 4. The identities of all those that “started the fracas near the PDP Campaign ground against the PDP Members” were not known yet. 5. The identities of the shooters (and gun wielders -- especially those who were caught on camera) were not known yet. 6. Investigations are still ongoing. 7. Governor Sanwo-Olu had already blamed PDP for the whole fracas,, and painted them in bad light, and taken decisions not to be found anywhere near them. 8. That accusation and conclusion by the Governor was rather too quick. If the Lagos State PDP are so weak and docile, then, they can remain quiet and accept such accusations and stomach it fully, and let the whole of Nigeria see them as the ones who caused the fracas (even while investigations are yet to be concluded). If at-least they cared about their name and their reputation (and that is, if they are very sure that they were falsely accused, and that they can establish and prove it), then they should be heading to the court already. |
