Not just cement. Other concrete elements are quite expensive too; Gravel, sharp sand as well as steel reinforcement. Also, architects are pushing the boundaries of their design, construction engineers have to find innovative ways to carry out building construction.

Very Correct. They are mistaking this for Roof Fascia.
A parapet is a wall that's built to conceal the roof, either for aesthetics or functionality purpose.

There are lots of quacks in the construction industry here in Nigeria , as such, terminologies tend to get mixed up and people just follow the trend.

Again, there may be no cost savings because the cost of aluminum sheets has gone up as well. By the time you consider the cost of woodworks + aluminum (including folding the sheets) for the fascia versus the wobbling of the aluminum (if not installed properly) , you'll realize that concrete fascia might just be more economical.

We never see anything. When Dangote is done with Nigerian economy many will be eating from the dustbin.

Cement is so expensive considering the fact that he pays almost nothing as royalties for our minerals. #25 per ton of limestone is what Dangote pays but price of cement is constantly on the increase. Dangote's economic impact means it's cheaper to import cement than buying the cement we manufacture in Nigeria.

Next will be petroleum products.

Beggar thy country men has always been Dangote's ideology.

The same thing he would soon do with fuel.
I told people that were jubilating that with soon to come onstream of Dangote refinery,that petrol would not only be abundant but relatively cheaper that they are all imps and f ools.
I categorically stated here that Dangote won't be bought at the pump at less than ₦350.
It has not even come on stream and fuel is already ₦350.
When he comes on board,CBN would not give preferential forex to importers because they would tell them Dangote is producing fuel.
That they can import fuel if they want but have to source their own foreign exchange.
By the time importers calculate and find that to just break even,they have to sell their black market dollar sourced,imported fuel at ₦650-₦750,they would start seeing selling at ₦450 with Dangote fuel as a bargain.
Una never see anything!

Na the price be dat,I bought two bags for a little fence work last month 9,000(4,500 per bag),now it's 4800,Its so unfortunate for people involve in building construction.
