New Notes: Question For Those Defending Emefiele CBN Online --hardmirror by HardMirror(op): 8:23am On Jan 17, 2023
I have some questions for those defending Godwin Emefiele the CBN Governor.
You claim that the policy of the CBN governor is going to affect Tinubu and Atiku but favour Obi, because it would stop vote buying. Please answer this questions.

1. Do you really think this would affect Tinubu or Atiku? Do you think these men go to the bank to fill teller? When BVN was just introduced and everyone was rushing to the bank, do you know bankers left their work to go and register big men in their house? Getting cash is never going to be a problem for men at the level of Atiku and Tinubu.

2. Do you know how powerful state governors are? Are you aware that both PDP and APC have a lot of governors in power that can get them cash through several means? What about the senetors and reps?

3. You are clapping for Emefiele, how much of the new naira note have you gotten yourself? You are still collecting old note from atm, pos vendors and from the bank tellers and you think it is Atiku and Tinubu that would suffer when the deadline of 31st January comes.

4. If Buhari is doing this because he wants Tinubu to lose as some of you claim, are you saying Tinubu is the one in charge of DSS and not Buhari?

I sincerely dont understand how masses that are the most affected by the policy of CBN are thinking it is the big politicians that would suffer.

Seun nlfpmod mynd44 pls we need more answers. Thanks

I like the CBN policy, but my only concern is the Jan 31 deadline.

Emefiele is never doing this because he loves the masses,he's doing this as a kinda coverup and for his own selfish interest.

Give us enough Time before you said the old naira notes are no longer a legal tender,.!

obviously this policy would only affect the poor masses. An overwhelming majority are yet to see any of the new notes but some people think it is tinubu and atiku that would suffer. We have barely 2 weeks to the deadline. LordReed i sight you, lets hear from you.

As they say, when elephants fight it is the grass that suffers. It may be that the policy was introduced as an anti-vote buying measure but clearly the people who are going to suffer for it are the masses especially those who have only thrived in a cash only modus operandi.

IMO I am thinking the whole policy will be reversed back and the old naira note becomes once again a legal tender after it has served it's purpose of curbing vote buying.
But is it really going to deter heavyweight presidential candidate from vote buying, people who have all the state governors as their friend ,or is Emefiele really intends to make us pass through hardships?

obviously . Unfortunately, many people fail to see that big politicians can easily circumvent this policy. On election day you would see how the new notes would flood the polls. Notes that the banks cant stock in the ATMs

state governors are very powerful. They can create dubious programs and demand cash directly from cbn. Remember how the federal government distributed billions of naira in cash in 2020?

Embrace electronic means of transaction period. No one said it is going to be easy. But if we must move forward, we must be ready to embrace change.

you must be dumb. The millions of northerners that dont have bank accounts and many old women in the villages that would suffer this are the unbanked. They are more than those with bank accounts. Go and tell them to be making transfers.

You are too dumb to want to hang the progress of a nation of on a bunch of people who are serious with their lives.

The country you praise everyday and night, did they get where they are with the kind of dumbness you display here trying to claim intelligent.

If you can't make the sacrifice for development, you bear the blunt of the lose.

That is what Nigeria want to do. Follow the steps of developed nations to be developed. Reduce the use of physical cash.

Anyone who is not ready for change should be ready to loss.

They want to reduce terrorism financing and all means of corruption. This is the best way. You can't have more than 100k at a time as an individual.

you just like too much talk. Who says these policies are not good. Is that what the thread is about? Or to correct the notion that politicians cannot source cash? Funny thing is you are just talking rubbish. Politicains have access to this money and the masses dont that is the point of the thread. Abeg pack one side. No body is saying it is not a good policy and no body is saying we should not move in that direction. If you cannot read and understand ask you dad to help you out.

You think you have more information than the cbn governor and Bubu regarding how money is accessed by politicians?

The politicians capacity to mobilize resources for election rigging has been drastically reduced by this policy. Why do you think they're crying?

did you watch the announcement emefiele made yesterday? Or you just feel like talking?
He admitted that many banks had compromisssed and they are involving icpc and efcc to start investigating how many was distributed.
Yes it would make it inconvinient. But it wont make it impossible for the politicians.

this is where you are wrong. This policy is more beneficial in curbing criminal activities such as kidnapping than curbing vote buying. Vote buying can take a 100 forms it does not have to be paid in cash.

N100 notes are not enough to carter for all cash transactions in a country like nigeria. Dont let your passion for obi disconnect you from your brain. We know obi is the only saint in nigeria and he must win. Dont worry he would win even people will collect tinubu's money and still vote obi. So let us stop decieving ourselves. Tinubu has access to cash than you can ever imagine.
