Hakim Ziyech is a space magnet that lacks "Qualitative Superiority" in one v one situations. Hence, an impediment that magnifies his limitations as a ball retention artist in tight spaces. Although, his ferocious ball striking ability/creativity could buy him time, but how long?


Hakim's game revolves around cutting infield to swing in crosses to find runners at the back post. This is a facet of his game that hasn't been properly utilized by Lampard/Tuchel and now maybe Potter. Although, his inconsistent nature has nudged him into a tunnel of mediocrity


However, he is not a Robben, Oliseh, Mahrez or Di Maria. Ziyech is way too predictable to be unpredictable. He lacks the technical audacity of the aforementioned players. His right foot is non existent, it is a weakness that limits him in one v one situations


How long before he gets to the light at the end of this endless tunnel? While time isn't on his side at 29, Ziyech can prove his doubters wrong by improving his 'pausa'. He still has time to become slick and tidy in possession. His individualistic nature needs to be erradicated


Since his arrival from Ajax. His inability to be consistent in beating defenders in one v one situations is a problem that is likely to persist. However, his skillset can be refrigerated for specific in-game situations by Potter in a more complimentary manner.


While this means that Habibi on the long run will most likely be displaced by Noni as he posseses a more pivotal skillset. Noni's technical security is a far more reliable ingredient to Potter's recipes. Unlike Noni, Hakim's hastiness to release the ball under pressure is flawed


Although, his positional play is world class, the ability to maintain external corridor to receive the ball is magnificent for a player whose ball retention in tight spaces and one v one ability is mildly flawed. Although, this is a side of his game that can be repaired


Age and time is his cryptonite. His mentality is highly dependent on how he reacts to competition, to analyze what the team needs, to develop his "social affective" skill in an inexplicable manner. Rapid enough to beat the span of development within a short period of time


All he needs to do is increase his technical usage. Identify what the team needs rather than feed his urgency to make things happen. He needs to highlight the players around him, how they see the game, the synchronization in this facet must align for cohesion


The same way Anthony at United has been able to break that Ajax inswinging programing by evolving his 'Pausa'. Anthony like Ziyech was designed to control the ball, shift it into their left foot before unleashing an inswinging cross to create chaos. The PL is dominated by giants.


This is a skill set that could well loose it's value with time. Ziyech like Anthony must prove his adaptability, retain possession in tight areas, beat players in one v one situations, demonstrate 'Pausa' to increase passing lanes and options


In conclusion, Hakim lacks the skillsets needed to transit from an Ajax inswinging machine to a tight space guru with one v one ability. His qualitative ability must exude class and dangerous situations. This is how Noni's explosive nature and qualitative ability edges Hakim's
