New Naira: IMF Advises CBN To Extend February 10 Deadline by EcoBrick(op): 1:08pm On Feb 08, 2023
The International Monetary Fund, on Wednesday, counselled the Central Bank of Nigeria to extend the February 10 deadline for swapping old naira notes with the redesigned ones.

The IMF gave the counsel in the wake of the challenges faced by Nigerians across the country over the banknote swap process.

The IMF said in a statement, “In light of hardships caused by disruptions to trade and payments due to the shortage of new bank notes available to the public, in spite of measures introduced by the CBN to mitigate the challenges in the banknote swap process, the IMF encourages the CBN to consider extending the deadline, should problems persist in the next few days leading up to the February 10, 2023 deadline.”

Re: New Naira: IMF Advises CBN To Extend February 10 Deadline by OkutaNla:
Na only Atiku (PDP), Peter Obi (LP), and their people no gree get sense and align with the masses on the subject matter. I recall that when the new notes were first introduced, the same saboteurs were complaining about its 'poor' design, its 'inferior' texture and what not. The moment Tinubu voiced his opinion about the politicization and poor execution of the policy, them change mouth. God save us from those emergency patriots, especially the former Biafrans and their acolytes.

No extension, let February 10 be the last day.

What we are witnessing is temporary scarcity, if not for some greedy persons at the top and some bank managers this change of currency would have been a good one for the dying economy

So many things going on wrong that should have set this country on fire te-te.

I doubt if this one will cos Nigerians are too docile. That's why there leaders give them steady shit back to back and nothing happens.

Reasonable people reason alike, the mentally derailed reason differently

Emefiele should be sacked with immediate effect. He coloured old note and call it new note.

He withdrew 3 trillion from people and printed only 300 billion

He created panic in the system and made people to suffer upon their money by giving short notice and ultimatum.

He is a party to the 2023 election because he purchased nomination form, he should not remain in the CBN

Supreme Court don give 5 days extra, to entertain the case..

Mr Emefiele,

This policy is very brilliant, if implemented rightly. It's not a sign of weakness to go back to the drawing board and adjust the implementation to suit Nigeria's economic peculiarities and stark reality.

The major problem started from your alleged interest in partisan politics (I can't confirm you bought APC forms yourself.but, you went to court for court to determine your eligibility.... somehow, you sef get interest grin)...this interest, is making it seems as if you are deliberately rushing this policy to get back at some politicians.

Whatever it is, the masses are suffering this ill-timed policy deadlines...kindly review same to accomodate the masses.

There will be a country, before policies to govern her...no burn this country

Good. But one Okoye from Onitsha thinks otherwise.

By now, emefiele and his gang of saboteurs should cover their eyes in shame.

Only that bastard political fraudster IPOB terrorists candidate Peter Obi and his accursed terrorists Zombidiots Igbos were supporting the evil policy of that useless Igbo CBN governor hoping that the suffering it brings will push Nigerian people to vote against Tinubu APC presidency.

But unfortunately for them, the whole thing has backfired against Peter Obi and now everyone sees Tinubu as a hero that spoke against his own party government for the benefit of the masses.

My offer still stands: I will pay 10 billion to Labor Party if Peter Obituary can win 1 single State outside the South East undecided
