Fear not! CBN will accept your 50k old notes whenever you return to Nigeria even if it's next year, along with some documentations like tax proof, your business and so on!

Deadline kill them. I should go and deposit the money I have and then use what to feed exactly? Banks here stopped paying both old and new notes long time ago.

If the old naira note exceed 25th, then the purpose of the new naira note is worthless and useless. This means, CBN/FG are MAD
That's the point of these whole gymnastics the people who took the case to supreme court are doing. All the court needs to do is keep adjourning the case till after elections which is the reason CBN, which is the main actor, was not added in the case because it will be struck out immediately.

Keep using your old and new notes till court hearing on the 15th February. We Nigerians should stick more to our local radio stations for quality info. All these "agbo and beer" parlour gist wouldn't take you anywhere.

Don't take any notes to banks for now to avoid your continuous suffering. This is what smartness means but Nigerian definition of smartness means to cheat, defraud and beat a working system.

it will stand, CBN don't obey Supreme court unless they are doing something unlawful

Only Buhari can stop it, not Supreme court

I am forced to agree you. Ordinarily, the CBN et the Presidency ought to issue new directives which they have failed to do.

But technically, the old notes are still legal tenders. But you might see some persons rejecting it due to the failure of the Federal govt to issue clear directives.

There is a meeting of the council of states slated for later in the day. I am tempted to believe one of the agenda will be this issue. Let’s see if it will be extended till June or temporarily suspended.

But I learnt another court gave a restraining order yesterday. I am yet to see a copy of the order.

Let’s see what happens today sha. I rest.

FG is not CBN and CBN is not FG. The Supreme Court order was directed at FG, not CBN which is an independent body, not answerable to FG on it's policies.

Understand that as long as CBN is still Nigeria Apex bank the decision of the Supreme court STANDS. The old naira notes remain LEGAL TENDER till February 15th when the Apex court will decide on the matter.

The Supreme Court will decide if they are acting out of jurisdiction or within jurisdiction on Feb 15

But I doubt a judgement will be giving on that day.
