Suppose citizens A, B and a vast number of others have billions of Naira of illicit funds (amounting to say 2 trillion Naira) stashed away in warehouses, bunkers, safes or suckaways when this policy was announced.

Does the swap then exclude them from swapping their loot/illicit funds? And do you think these categories of people would like to leave a trail when they're doing their cash swaps? Honestly, they'd rather racket with top placed officials in the distribution chain, at a fee, to swap theirs, which is taken back to their safehouses out of circulation.

That way, if the CBN printed #300bn as alleged by El Rufai, you can understand we're not seeing them in circulation and can rationalize how bandits got the vast sums the displayed in mockery of the policy.

So who do you call a saboteur? The man that clandestinely swaps his stash, for a fee, and goes back to save it in his bunker or who?

Were you expecting those categories of peeps to sit idly and wash their monies (though illicit) go to waste?

1st of all this is not a cash swap were u bring 500m old notes and they will give u 500m new notes.

The policy procedure is u paying the money into the system via ur account or 3rd party account bt nobody is giving u same amount in new notes. u will have to follow the new policy limits for cash withdrawal.

Thus mean any bank giving governors 500m cash have violated the cbn policy. Also if that money didn't come from an account to show the cash withdrawal then it is a crime and they can be accused of sponsoring illegal activities like terrorism and vote buying.

It is left for Cbn to device a mechanism to detect money given to criminals without passing through the system and reflecting in their books.

Any policy that falls within 6 months to the expiration of any government in Nigeria is dead on arrival. Everyone knows that Buhari has less than a month in office. Once the election is over and a new winner is announced, he becomes a lame duck President. This redesign should have been implemented at least two years ago if they are serious. There are already talks of reversing the policy by Presidential contestants and that adds to the confusion.

Keep electing empty heads. Na una go suffer am. Suffering doesn't recognize party affiliation. But who knows? After all Fr Ejike Mbaka said that Buhari is God-sent and Hope Uzodinma is the only hope for Imo people. Too equally bad products.
