Majority of these struggles were as a result of our actions or inaction to public directives.
Majority of us do not like to do what we are supposed to do until the last minute.

I have done almost everything on the list and I don't struggle while doing them because I did mine as soon as I can.
The only time I struggle was when I did nin and the reason was I failed to do it at the appropriate time until my sim was blocked like many other Nigerians, everyone are trying to get theirs done at that last minute

Only if we vote the same corrupt people, and that mindset is a very terrible one, I don't know if you have a child but imagine if your child grows up and finishes school and still cannot find a job or feed himself, its easy to say this things but in reality if such happens that means we have destroyed our future and past generations. it will be more difficult to make it, because now you have generations of poverty before and after you. God forbid

Ask yourself this question,if europe and Asia and the rest of the world gets wiped out in a nuclear war and Africa survives, can Africa be able to produce iphones, androids, cars, aeroplanes, ships etc i am sorry i think we will slide back to the stone ages and wear animal skins like our forefathers.

The worse tragedy is that tribalism will not allow many to Vote Wisely & break away from the shackles of such struggles. cheesy

Is that so? Alright, put your trabalism aside and vote Kwankwaso. Because he is more qualified than your candidate. Let's see if you really meant good for Nigeria. If you can't, then keep your mouth shut when people are arguing about tribal politics

A bit harsh, a bit extreme, but your post contains more nuggets of truth than the soliloquies being posted. Someone actually replied this blaming the west for killing good African leaders lol. Are we back in the 50s and 60s? We’re still making that dead argument in 2023? Black people are going to be blaming the west for the next 200 years while the rest of the world leap frogs them.

Black people world wide need to stop this victimhood nonsense. There is zero honor in it in the modern world. Take responsibility, that’s the first step. Take more risks. People are way too risk averse, and then they blame the fates for things not changing. But the first step is to take responsibility of your decisions, of your life, of your destiny.

Our past leaders that Africans claim were killed by the west were brave enough to put themselves on the line because they believed even if they died, someone would pick up where they left off. Are Africans and black people at large living up to those ideals left by those great people? No

Sharrap there. Stop it. Don't denigrate a whole race, your own for that matter. That's self hatred. In case you don't know, Africans are the ancestors of the human race. Human civilization started in African, so yes, if the rest of the world is gone Africans will reinvent all those modern techy again. If they could ignite human civilization, they sure can sustain it!

It's clear to me as day, but most Nigerians believe voting will change the country. No it won't, only a revolution will. The colonialist imposed democracy on us, and we foolishly accepted it without charting our own political path.

The loophole with democracy is that if any leader that the West hate comes to power, then they shall support an opposing leader that will return the country to the statue quo, give him money, weapons, international support, political and media coverage.

Same script in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Burkina faso, Taiwan, the list is too much to mention it all. Africa are never independent in the true sense of the word, just transfer of ownership to black gatekeepers.

They will ignore their crime (eg endsars), as far they keep the country down for them. What you guys called leaders are gatekeepers of imperialism. Political prostitutes that have sold the country long ago.

You may argue that Nigeria was better just after independence, but remember, a corpse doesn't smell the day it died, but as time goes by. You think Buhari did worse, just wait and see next ten years.

Nigeria will only get worse, not better, worse. It's not a curse, swear or hate, but facts. If Nigeria is a human, then it's an im.becile. A developing country is like a child, it's a matter of time and it will grow to develop status, but even in twenty years time, an im.becile is still an im.becile with white hair and brown teeth.

What you guys called Independence is nothing but a transition of an old method of exploitation (colonialism), to a more sophisticated, self-sustaining method of subjugation (imperialism).

Even If a revolution happens, then the West will impose all kinds of economic sanctions and seize our foreign reserves, strangling us to submission, because others being down is the fuel that sustain their hegemony.

And the sad news? It will keep getting worse. Things doesn't stay stagnant, it's either getting better, or worse, depending on the mode you're on.

Because Nigeria is many nations forced into one country. Every nation in Nigeria has its objectives different from the other nations in Nigeria.
If not, there is no other country in the world that a voter will sideline ObiDatti ticket but goes for old and most corrupt Tinubu and Atiku.
Nigerians don't want to tell themselves the truth because of crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta. Their political leaders want to quench with them in a most dysfunctional country, Nigeria.

The worst of blacks are found in Nigeria.
Europeans don't accept multiple ethnic groups in one European country. Because multiple ethnic and religious groups in one country is a bold TICKET to failure for such a country.
If Nigeria were to be in Europe, the country would have been divided by politicians.
But you have Nigeria's politicians struggle for apex political leadership of Nigeria in order to control of proceeds from crude oil and gas deposits and other income to Nigeria.

It saddens me each time I read your take on the modern slavery Africa as a continent is subjected to. My question is, what possibly can we do to redeem ourselves? We can't just give up on our future. We have more people and resources than the west

Let's stop deceiving ourselves. We not being subjected to anything, we just don't have sense! We lack common sense as Nigerians living in Nigeria, may be we behave better when we go abroad.... I'm not sure.
We don't deserve better cos we do not behave better. We will continue to be like this, nothing will change until the day we wake up and start to use the common sense that we have been delibrately ignoring to use.

that bro say d truth African especially Nigeria will never develop even 100 years to this time no light no good roads no free education crime everywhere as if they is no government upon all what God bless us with I regret being a Nigerian

Africa will develop - Innosun motor is a prime example. The problem is the mentality of general populace of electing very bad and selfish leaders in Nigeria everytime. It is a problem with black people generally. Nigerians are very talented and If you see what Nigerians are doing abroad in technology and science- you will be impressed. The solution with Nigerian of this current age is the mentality needs to change. This current Nigerians of this age reminds me of the Isrealites after leaving Egypt even when God delivered them. They wanted to go back to Egypt and remain in slavery. Post-Colonialism is affecting Nigeria today. Some African countries are waking up and move forward. I do know this coming election will decide a lot. I advise every Nigerians voting to sit down and really think before voting for a candidate. Because if the wrong president is elected; life will only get worse
