Imagine a Lebanese Supermarket wanna dictate to Nigerians. I don't blame them after all Naanu and his boss Atiku supported the wicked CBN policy thinking they are hurting Jagaban.

Seriously, there is something inherently with some Nigerians as regards to rule of law and their basic rights. Can you imagine the nonsense a governor did and people are showing support tomorrow when their rights are stamped upon they cry blue murder. Tell me what the owner suppose to do. Banks informed him they were not going to collect old money from him and he in turn decided not to caught up in the power play by not accepting from customers. Do the governor wants him to bear the losses? Are businesses not open to make profit? let him go and arrest banks that have shut down and stop collecting the money. Every business owner has the RIGHTS to determine WHO AND WHOM TO SELL and WHAT CAN BE USED AS EXCHANGE as long as it is legally registered and not violating any existing rule or policy. This is crass dictatorship but unfortunately the courts are not there to help or give justice to common man. Sometimes when whites mock Africans these are kind of the news that supports that.

They should stay closed for two weeks
Rubbish people
Two weeks is even too small. I will shut down for like 2months for them to know the true meaning of Suffering. The same should be done to these POS operators. They are draining the pockets of people of their hard earn money.

Good. You must obey supreme Court order.

The court injunction is not binding on them but on central Bank, they were not joined as a defendant in the case. They are individuals running private businesses and when cbn says there is no extension you don't expect them to ignore that. What if they collect the old notes and the banks refused to collect them from them, who loses? Ganduje or the supermarket?
The state has no right to close their business for the fact that they are trying to protect their business. The state should rather get cbn to adhere to court ruling and formally extend the deadline set. This is abuse of power on the part of the state. I hope they are willing to close all the banks in the state too if they refuse to collect the old notes from customers while waiting for cbn to make pronouncement?

bro, i have free education from primary to university level quite alright but I'm finding it difficult to secure a job

I've been going through hard time after i left school. At times i do question the free education Nigerians are benefiting but no job opportunity for her teeming youths. Most of these guys now indulge in cyber fraud for survival

I can't go into fraud but it's not been easy for me seriously

The governor suppose to sanction the banks that are not accepting the old notes from the supermarket owner.
Re: We Will Start Accepting Old Notes, Kano Supermarket Tells Ganduje by iscom(m): 6:56am On Feb 13, 2023
I don't know why people can't speak the truth. Banks are no longer accepting the old notes and you want a big supermarket like that to accept the old notes? Are they going to eat it? The Governor should have gone to the bank to warn them before any other action. Ragbish.

This same measure should be meted out to Shoprite Lugbe.
I saw a notice pasted at the back of their monitor that from 9th of February they will no longer receive old notes.
So I told the cashier to remove the notice that the order has been lifted.
She said no that they stand by the order that Shoprite is not owned by the Nigeria government.

The supermarket, which was shut for insisting on new notes, has written a letter to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to apologise for its action.

In the letter, the supermarket said it rejected the old notes based on the deadline set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the refusal of commercial banks to accept old notes. Accepted

They should remain closed. At Foodco supermarket Ibadan yesterday the cashiers rejected old naira notes from me. Luckily I had the new notes. They're big businesses, why are they rejecting the notes when smaller businesses are taking them?
