Pojomojo:you missed the part where she was said to be dressed in a see-through cloth that revealed her cleavages? And pink tinted hair? If you need anyone to teach you about dress code as an adult, then all your education is pointless. You're still a baby! "The way you dress is the way you'd be addressed" Remember that? |

The money she received from the HRM was sent in error. She has to return it. I warned her about her inappropriate dressing but she wouldn't listen. Stew-peed gurl |

I guess she never needed the job ,who dress like a hooker to a new place of work ,knowing u will judge by your outward appearance on site. Something similar did happen to a close friend of mine, but in his case he dressed shabby to an interview,he was the best at the interview but his dress sense was off. |

naturefellow:The HR ought to have called her aside and corrected her. It will send a strong warning to her that such kind of dresses aren't allowed there |

If IRE dressed decently to and during the interview process, and on the day of documentation, she decides to dress like a prostitute, she has her self to blame... For the HR not to recognize IRE afterwards, asking if she was an entertainer or sort, it means the dressing was way outta it... Most organizations will do the same or withdraw the letter if according to the write up, she came in with cleaverage revealing outfit not in tone with organizational culture. IRE has no case... |

BennyDGreat:she lacks personal ethics - manners, dress sense, interpersonal skills, etc ... It's not the responsibility of HR to teach that to new intakes. I mean, who dresses like a video vixen to a corporate environment? No one would take you seriously. |

First of all the offer letter collection is not part of a normal job meeting and they called her in the middle of her day I presume so they have no monopoly on her dressing and what she was doing at the time. Her lawyer can argue had they added a dress code to the meeting then she would have grounds to lose the offer. Even Mrs Boss or Mr boss judging you don’t know if she was heading to the salon All these frustrated people suffering ups forget nobody lives forever |

In as much as the offer letter is yet to be signed, there is no contractual relationship. Two, Ire served them a breakfast which the HR discovered on time. The Ire that attended the interview and viewed as decent and appropriate for the organization tents is not the same as Ire that came for the offer letter. My brother was doing competition with Prof Wole soyinka's hair style. After his nysc he got a contract job with an oil company around lekki. He came back home without the hair and I was asking why? He said he was told "as much as we saw your brilliancy, this your hair will not allow you to wear helmet as an engineer." Sharp sharp, 100 meters relay race to barbing shop, the hair we had begged him to cut down, became a low cut .Most of the organization set standard for their staff. |

naturefellow:It wouldn't cost the HR nothing in communicating this to her in strong terms. Sometimes, young folks lose it. It won't take nothing from you if you correct them. |

The company still have the rights what so ever to withdraw any let of sort Besides they have Sense that her future dress code in the organization is capable of causing havoc and confusion among her peers which will affect productivity |

Helloooooo Iremide has no case to file against the organization. What the company was offering her was an offer letter and it was not handed over to her. She has no valid legal document binding her and the company together. It was a mere offer which was later declined by the company. Case closed. |

Hmmm. I have a girlfriend that's always on tik tok while in d office . Last weekend she had to blond her hair. If u see her dressing u go wonder. She's a desk cashier with first bank. One day now she go dey shout about village people because I know e go happen. |

BennyDGreat:you have a point. But sorry, the corporate world doesn't work this way. Except, of course your father owns the company, or you're well connected and undisciplined (typical African setting). Besides, Iremide hadn't signed a contract yet, so the HR can do and undo. It's still HR that would bear the brunt of whatever comes along with her person, if eventually absorbed into the company. So, Iremide could just do with her father's/family's name for now. And you can't just keep correcting every youngin that has lost it. Experience/the hard way is often the best teacher. |

fortunateme:Well, it sounds straight forward until you realize that agreements can be entered by conduct (different from written) implied (different from express) etc. While I agree that there should be alignments, on the extant matter, that lady may actually have a case, even if it turns out bad. |

The way and manner young ladies dress to expose their breasts is highly embarrassing. Even inside kubwa village market yesterday, one idiot lady in her early 20s almost half naked, even fellow women cursed her. The HR has done the right thing, let her go take up a job of bar attendant in hotel |

fortunateme:I am ethically trained to take up any and every case except i conscientiously believe it is against all i stand for. (The complainant or plaintiff (in a civil suit) and the accused in criminal matters have rights and the law say, ubi jus ubi remedium - where there is a right, there is a remedy) Hence I will even take a glaringly bad case and work on getting a respite even if through technicalities. So yes, I certainly will take up the case if i have to. |

It depends on the law. Though on a professional level the rules should also be laid out. Anyways i still assumed the company gave job requirements which i believed Ire perused. |

Iremide is stupid. If she could not wear the sexy transparent dress for the interview where decision would be made on her employability, why wear such on the day she was asked to pick up her offer letter. Her dress sense and simplicity may have endear her to the decision makers. |
| Re: What Would You Advice Both Parties To Do In Such A Situation by remsonik(f): 11:56pm On Feb 14, 2023 |
Anyways iremide has no case against the HR here. She hasn't signed the offer letter, was only informed that she has an offer letter to pick up and the HR changed their mind and decided not to give her the job anymore. Assuming there's a legal bond between the organization and Ire then she can sue them. They even did her well giving her a sum of money to apologize for the wrong information on her picking up the offer letter. The way you're dressed is the way you're addressed! |

I believe most organisations have dress codes, why did she dress to seduce. Its her fault, she should rest in Jesus name. Come to think of it OP, are you sure you are not the Ire, because you have big boobs? |
