Teetee777: Shut up your dirty mouth! Almost 90% of NW and NE are deep in multidimensional poverty. They live from hand to mouth. How many of them can boast of 10,000 naira? Most of them have spent the old money and same applies elsewhere in Nigeria. Most of the poor people have little cash and they will find it easy to dispose all the while it was announced that old money will become invalid. Again, most of the poor use lower denominations like 100, 200 or less. Such denominations still remain valid. Stop crying wolf where there is non, only rogue politicians that stored loots in sucker ways and geepee tanks should be worried. |

MrEverest: Because you can still deposit it at the banks before April 10 as said by mr President. There was uncertainty of whether old 500 and 1000 naira notes can still be deposited at the bank before Buhari now made this clear pronouncement that indeed old 500 and 1000 naira notes can still be deposited until April 10th. |

Why twisting what Buhari said to soothe your narrative thereby deceiving gullible ones? .... Point of correction;#500 and #1000 have become invalid but in order not to lose your money, you can go and deposit them in any of the CBN branches nationwide... |

Ezeama400:You don't need to listen to the narrative. This is Nigeria where the politician is looking for a way to gain more votes from the masses and it now working in northern states. Mr. President is not a politician and he can never separate vote buying from the elections in Nigeria, not possible. That politician will find a way to succeed in the elections. |

forgiveness: It's either you lack comprehension or you're just trying to deceive gullible ones. Buhari stated that only old 200 naira notes can be legally used to transact or deposit in banks. 500 and 1000 naira notes can only be deposited into the CBN. Now, how many people have succeeded in depositing their money at the CBN 😂😂 Have you even read the terms and conditions attached with depositing money at the CBN 😂😂 If you still have old 500 and 1000 naira notes, just cry over your loss and move on😭 |

MrEverest: I don't need to insult you because I have the brain to know that you are sense*less because: 1. Anybody that believes that Buhari was dead is a sensel*ess person 2. Anybody that Nnamdi Kanu will bring Biafra is a sensel*ess 3. Anybody that believes Buhari was a Jubrin from Sudan is a sensel*ess 4. Anybody that believes that other people have no opinion in a democracy in Nigeria is a sense*less So, therefore, I will not engage with sense*less people. |

MrEverest: Buhari made it clear and official that old 500 and 1000 naira notes can now be deposited at the CBN and designated points till further notice. Now that this declaration has been made, it suffices to say any CBN or designated points that refuse to follow the presidency instructions are voluntary to litigation. Abi have you forgotten there is Judiciary to settle matters? |

piyoo91: What a novice! Buhari's pronouncement this morning has overrules the former pronouncement of CBN. Are you clever at all? See below for ur understanding. 16. To further ease the supply pressures particularly to our citizens, I have given approval to the CBN that the old N200 bank notes be released back into circulation and that it should also be allowed to circulate as legal tender with the new N200, N500, and N1000 banknotes for 60 days from February 10, 2023 to April 10 2023 when the old N200 notes ceases to be legal tender. 17.In line with Section 20(3) of the CBN Act 2007, all existing old N1000 and N500 notes remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points. |
