Some people are jubilating because Mr president said the 1000 and 500 old note has stopped as legal tender, there are many people (farmers, businessman) with old naira note in the northern and southern part of the country and you want those people to lose their money because of politician.

Now, some politician has promised that people should continue using the old naira note in the northern part of the country and that if they elect as the govt, they will reverse the policy. Who will now carry the majority vote of the masses?

Shut up your dirty mouth!

Almost 90% of NW and NE are deep in multidimensional poverty. They live from hand to mouth. How many of them can boast of 10,000 naira?

Most of them have spent the old money and same applies elsewhere in Nigeria. Most of the poor people have little cash and they will find it easy to dispose all the while it was announced that old money will become invalid. Again, most of the poor use lower denominations like 100, 200 or less. Such denominations still remain valid.

Stop crying wolf where there is non, only rogue politicians that stored loots in sucker ways and geepee tanks should be worried.

How many people have succeeded in depositing their money at CBN?

Make una dey play, I see you all shedding premium tears😂😂

Because you can still deposit it at the banks before April 10 as said by mr President. grin

There was uncertainty of whether old 500 and 1000 naira notes can still be deposited at the bank before Buhari now made this clear pronouncement that indeed old 500 and 1000 naira notes can still be deposited until April 10th.

Average voter would ask..." I thought Tinubu asked us to vote Buhari, what changed ?"

Which party created the policy and who's the presidential candidate of APC ?

If you know how people hate anything APC now you won't be saying this
You don't need to listen to the narrative. This is Nigeria where the politician is looking for a way to gain more votes from the masses and it now working in northern states.

Mr. President is not a politician and he can never separate vote buying from the elections in Nigeria, not possible. That politician will find a way to succeed in the elections.

17.In line with Section 20(3) of the CBN Act 2007, all existing old N1000 and N500 notes remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points.

According to Buhari speech, "all existing old N1000 and N500 remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points" till April 10.

Meaning, it can still be in circulation until April 10. The only difference is that the N200 note will be released back into circulation even if deposited at the banks while the N500 and N1000 notes will not be released back into circulation after been deposited in the CBN or designated points.

Buhari made it clear and official that old 500 and 1000 naira notes can now be deposited at the CBN and designated points till further notice.

Now that this declaration has been made, it suffices to say any CBN or designated points that refuse to follow the presidency instructions are voluntary to litigation.

What a novice! Buhari's pronouncement this morning has overrules the former pronouncement of CBN. Are you clever at all? grin

See below for ur understanding.

16. To further ease the supply pressures particularly to our citizens, I have given approval to the CBN that the old N200 bank notes be released back into circulation and that it should also be allowed to circulate as legal tender with the new N200, N500, and N1000 banknotes for 60 days from February 10, 2023 to April 10 2023 when the old N200 notes ceases to be legal tender.
