Yes yes
Listen to radio this morning
It is official
Only 200 naira note is allowed as legal tender

500 and 1000 naira note can not be used anymore

Buhari say vote any candidates of your choice

Don't be scared security will be provided

I love what Buhari is doing

If this is the only thing he can be remembered for
Please also ensure dss, efcc, well trained police and icpc all scattered around polling unit that day

Buhari say As of October 2022, therefore, currency in circulation had risen to N3.23 trillion; out of which only N500 billion was within the Banking System while N2.7 trillion remained permanently outside the system; thereby distorting the financial policy and efficient management of inflation

Yes yes yes....if this is the only thing Buhari will do for us

We all must go out of our convenient zone to make this country work please 🙏 for posterities
If only he didn't destroy the naira value And cause the hyperinflation in the first place....
Anyway, I support the naira policy fully.

If Buhari was serious with vote buying, he would have started in 2019 when the vice president was in markets in major cities sharing trader moni. I hate hypocrisy.
The old 200 notes would still find their way to the politicians while the ordinary masses continue in their Lamentations.

You don't understand, everybody will be scrambling for the available 200 naira.

The old politicians hoarded all the 1000 and 500 running into billions in their homes and underground.

Since 1000 and 500 are no longer a legal tender, the stashed money planned for vote buying will only be accepted in bank. They are completely stranded.

How many 200 naira notes will you pack for vote buying when the available ones are to be used to neutralise the present scarcity.

And the election is already around the corner for them to restrategise.

The president in his address never said the #500 and #1000 are not legal because he is not permitted to.
The president only advised that the cbn is now open to receive the deposits of th same notes

You see, he ought to talk in clear terms. So i have to take my old 1k notes summing up to 3k to CBN?....this is laughable. A bad policy.

Y'all don't understand the bane of this monetary policy.

It's an attempt at moving away from a cash based economy. There's never a time cash would be much like it used to....Let that sink.!!!!

The maximum the CBN would inject into the economy would be in the region of 1 Trillion, disproportionate to the approximately 3 Trillion previously..Let it sink!!

Where did the president say this

He made reference to the existing guideline and the CBN has not given any other directive since the last one.

The only new order is the 200 notes which has been announced by the President and will be directed by the CBN to banks

I am not a sentimental person like you. This whole fight is about personal interest and not about the masses. If buhari was serious about fighting election funding he would have done it during his first tenure. The same corruption he is talking about was used to fund his two elections. So who is he deceiving.

I said go and sit down somewhere please.

Saul was used for a good cause, the tax collector was used for a good cause, who is Buhari not to be used for a good cause?

He needed it/them to get the premise where he can lay his legacy for years to come.
If you're smart, you will notice he didn't spend his own personal money, it was those people that were doing the spending for his candidacy.
He force them?

You think everyone is like you who dwell on past?

Yes, he was involved in such act in the past but he can put a legacy in place for years to come.

Maybe you have not come across the saying "if you can not beat them, then join them" as long as you have what you want to do in your mind.

If Tinubu wins in spite of all these, Bubu and his cabals go collect , cos whatever he is trying to work against now, worked for him in 2015 and 2019. Don't be deceived, this is never about the people but politics. If his "anointed candidate" had won the primaries would this policy have come up,or hurriedly and badly implemented?

Hypocrite! Suffering and smiling 👈 do u think any of those elites are suffering from the cash swap? Pathetic lot!

Racoon:
Tinubu, Gandollar, El-Rufai in the mud again. Now, Tinubu, all these criminal governors, all their urchins and miscreants can go to hell.

They were never on the side of the masses for the past 8 years. Suddenly a currency swap turned them to overnight patriots because their looted monies stashed outside the banks are being threatened. This present leadership of the Supreme Court have gone down to ignominy.

It's a bad policy. You cannot go completely cashless and you cannot force people within few months to go cashless. They create problems for us when none existed. We can go cashless without all the associated problems created.

He's not fighting for the masses. You must be stupid than i thought if you believe this policy is going to curb vote buying or it's going to hurt Tinubu in any way. I don't think you know how powerful these politicians are. They already have the new notes stashed somewhere in their various houses.
Ofcourse, some corrupts Bank Staffs have given them money but will it be enough to buy the desired votes?

Average citizens won't be easily influenced anymore because they have N200 notes at their disposal for buying petty items.
