You mean the same bank apps that messed themselves, not me up today and left me unable to buy anything because of their shitty services and terrible network connection? The same banking app that has succeeded in debiting my mum's 42k for almost two weeks without reversal?

Keep supporting rubbish, una hear? Hand go reach everybody. The rush is completely illogical and insensitive because I have never seen or heard of a situation where currency of a country is swapped in 3months. To make it worse, adequate provisions have not been made to implement the swap smoothly. Developed nations with better technology and infrastructure didn't do this, so it is Nigeria and her ancestral backwardness that will set the precedent?

Make una continue to dey support rubbish. You will all get your just desserts
This is not the first time buhari is disobeying court orders so what changed this time? Oh because e reach una side abi? Ah welcome, abeg make person shift make she see space sit-down ... Welcome oh aunty grin

The actions of APC governors in this Naira swap saga have given me a thought that is this creation of state police should be a priority for the next administration? Now I see that doing so without adequate checks and balances against the excesses of these governors might result to anarchy in the country.

If we must create a state police, we must also create a local govt police.

Is this not an act of treason

Elrufai is now overriding an order of the president, commander in chief of the arm forces

Illiterate, you can't declare state of emergency in a state without the majority vote in the National assembly. As it is today, Buhari has lost the popular support. He can never get the required number.
That's not what the law explicitly stated. Your use of the term "can't" is wrong in this context.

The president can declare a state of emergency in any part thereof in the federal republic of Nigeria if the country is at war, if there is a breakdown or threat of a breakdown of law and order. The FG would publish this in the official gazette and transmit same to the national assembly for concurrence. The National Assembly when in session is to convene and ratify within two(2) days, or do so within ten(10) days when not in session. Now, within this period, emergency rule has been declared and in force so your use of the term "can't declare" without the national assembly's approval is out of context.

Interestingly, with almost the unchallenged power enjoyed by the President in Nigeria, he may even devise a means like using the powers of the senate president as chairman of the Assembly to close the National Assembly citing national security and with support from few political friends in the Assembly, they may not even be able to do anything about it because a president in Nigeria is almost not impeachable.
This is Nigeria, you need to come to terms with our style of democracy. The morality of the president of Nigeria is different from anyone else and sadly, nobody can do anything about it for now.

El Rufai is playing with fire. The FG reserves the exclusive right to determine what is legal tender and how long it can remain so.

27. Therefore, as your governor, I wish to assure you that the Kaduna State Government, in collaboration with elected legislators, traditional institution, elected local government councils, markets, and traders associations will help you collect, record, document, collate and deliver all your old notes to the Kaduna branch of the Central Bank on your behalf into the new ones immediately after the elections. We will also ensure the delivery of your new notes to your various locations without any hardship or expense on your part. We shall save you any panic and the stress of a long journey from your community to the CBN office in our state capital, from March until December 2023 if need be.
This excerpt clearly states that El Rufai is only interested in the money because of election. He intends to use the old money to buy votes and the people can change it after election.

I don't understand why some people are pretending not to see that. Imagine declaring he will help them change it after election.

Jide Sanwo-Olu don talk e own since yesterday before El-rufai.
Both of them spoke before the president addressed the nation, El-rufai reiterated his position after the president's address(meaning he undermined the pronouncement of the president).......Jide should do same, he should do anything that will suggest he is undermining the pronouncement of the President...the slightest one

Now that depositors need to fill CBN form, I won't be surprised if some of the naira notes from bandits are found in this Kaduna and they intend to distribute it to the electorate during election so that CBN won't be able to trace it.

No one needs high denomination notes in large amounts today, several electronic channels exist to ensure bulk transactions are seamless.
Get a bank app, use the USSD service or use your atm cards, & for really large and sensitive transactions you simply walk into the bank and complete the very readily accessible transfer forms.

The CBN policy is the best thing that has ever happened to the Nigerian economy unless you are involved in illicit activity Or your sources of funds is illegal.
God bless president Buhari, God bless Emefiele, God bless Nigeria

El Rufai and co should stop crying
Some of you, your parents spend the night inside cold at the ATM just to withdraw 2k but you are happy because you think it is a policy that will stop Tinubu.

I wonder what will happen to you all when Tinubu eventually wins. grin

The confidence and authenticity that didn't come to bear when killer herdsmen and bandits ran riot killing and maiming Kaduna State citizens

El-Rufai is acting a script. His outrage is false. They are deceiving the Yorubas. Do not fall for this. He is the real Nollywood actor.

For this, I respect El Rufai. Someone must stand up to the president's lawlessness. They were all elected. The governor is not an appointee of the president, therefore he should fear nothing. I hate intimidation. angry

By magic and abracadabra.

Atiku will be very happy now.

He was worried about Buhari supporting Tinubu with federal might, and now he doesn't need to worry again.

Atiku will finish tinubu in the North and Peter Obi will do the same in the South.

The same elrufai that has never once spoken up when his people were massacred by terrorists.

I hope kaduna people deal with him at the polls.
