jogojogo:These governors are not fighting for the people. They are fighting for themselves. They've stacked these old notes, especially #1000 & #500, and want to use them for the coming election. Just a few days ago, I heard a politician I know very well shared dollars to some members of his constituency. This politician has a brother who owns a bank but shared dollars instead of naira because of the naira scarcity and the new withdrawal limit placed by the CBN. I also heard a Senatorial candidate from my constituency wants to share dollars on Election Day because of the Naira scarcity. Buhari has done well with this policy. I believe some of these constraints will be removed after the election. Even the so-called Supreme court justices know that they don't have jurisdiction in determining a legal tender but they are also fighting for their interest because bribes given to these judges are also done with cash to avoid trace. These judges also have stacked old Naira notes stashed in their homes. These politicians should either share the new Naira notes or the dollars they stacked by stealing from our commonwealth on Election Day. They should not be allowed to use those old Naira notes in buying votes. I may not be a Buhari fan but I am proud of him for doing this. I know it's hard on most Nigerians including me but remember you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. These are sacrifices the Nigerian people must pay to defeat those that have sabotaged our economy by stealing our commonwealth.

They are just deciving their people so that they can buy their vote with the old useless naira notes which their people can't use afterwards |
Re: Old Naira Notes Still Remain Legal Tender In Jigawa – Gov Badaru Dares Buhari by Yadid(m): 5:38am On Feb 17, 2023 |
Those governors saying the old notes remain legal tender are playing a game with their citizens. By making such pronouncement, the citizens are confused about whose order to obey which will in turn make them open to accepting the old notes as inducements during the elections, only to realise afterwards that the presidential directive stands. By then, they can only curse their luck. In short, the governors are merely creating a ground to deceive the citizens just so they are able to buy votes with the old notes. Inability to later spend the money will be the headache of the people, not the governors. Atiku has this election, I reckon. |

The commissioner, however, advised the general public to report any trader or business organizations that refused to accept the N200, N500, and N1000 notes as legal tender in Jigawa State to the nearest appropriate authorities. This Jigawa governor is cornfused. If the wise residents of the state reject the proscribed N500 & N1000 old notes, the governor has threatened to arrest them. Now, who controls the police? Tinubu & his proxies should just accept that they've been played. Forming human rights activists won't even change ur resolve to vote out the evil party. God bless Buhari & protect him from the plans of these wicked APC governors. |

gaby: How can you type such rubbish with confidence? When he came into power in 2015, the country had just a little above 1.4 trillion in circulation according to the cbn record . How did it rise to almost 3 trillion within 8 years of his administration? The country’s debt to GDP ratio is nothing to write home about causing huge inflation in the country. I would also need to remind you about the current rate of the dollar 1$ to 800. |

Does the common Nigeria still have the old notes? I doubt it. The issue people are having is getting money from the banks. So daring the govt is just audio dare. With the Exception of some politicians, nobody have the old notes at home. And the state govt fighting the fed govt against this can only close down big supermarket or business for refusing the old notes. What about the woman selling corn that won't touch the old notes. |

One fun thing about this naira thing is that it is gradually exposing the Tinubu camp as a camp that in essence buys votes. Witness El Rufai's speech...it was all about money, money, money. And how the other side has....money. All in all, APC divided against itself is good for Nigeria. Too bad we have PDP and PDP lite as the alternative. PDP and PDP lite are just as bad as APC. But then again, Nigerians love famillar things. |

These state governors that are doing as if they care about the people want to cause chaos in this country. I hope they fail. The 2023 elections must hold. At least the president has declared that N200 notes remain legal tender (both old and new). Why incite the people against the president. |

Bankkym: You have been noticed and gotten my attention. Oya, go follow your mates roll tire for sand... Pikins.. No be by grammar...debt to GDP ratio indeed when your lords have currencies that should be in the system stashed up in empty houses. You are lucky they are unable to get the equivalents of their stashed loots in hard foreign currencies. Na that time you for understand the meaning of debt to GDP ratio. Nonsense. |

FreeStuffsNG: Stay online and be grand standing I hope you are still spending your old 500 whereever you are. If by 22nd the Supreme court finally agrees it lacks juridisction and the case is to revert to the high court and CBN has to be joined in the suit to make a headway, then those with the nails notes would be the losers not the governors. |

jogojogo: You are the worst kind of fool. What is relating the East with this topic? When we talked about APC as evil party the north was shouting Shai Baba up and down. The SE knows bad market. Now we have paid in money into the bank watching the movie going on up north. Is not our business. APC does not obey court order and it didn't start today. Please weather your actions is stupidity not going to pay in cash within the given time is your business. Dont call SE in this foolish behaviour going on up north. The northern people do not use the bank. The keep money in sack at home. But here in the East we are civil and experienced in business administration. I just pray that Obi can win and help bring you people up to speed in the financial development the world is going. |

The same Buhari u are supporting was the person that brought severe poverty and hardship on Nigerians. As it is, Nigerians are even finding it very difficult to get their own money in the banks. Now, u are here talking rubbish. If u have old #500 and #1000 notes with u, u won't be saying. |

Buhari has finally lost his respect. They know he'll do nothing to them, as he's too lily-livered And predictable. Farmers, businessmen and ordinary Nigerians still have significant amounts of the old notes with. The Emefielian voodoo economics can never work! Personally I feel this election may be the craziest and most violent ever. If Tinubu wins (which is becoming very much likely) he's most definitely going to deal with those saboteurs and cabals which they all fear. Though I feel they may want to deny him his mandate and not handover power easily. 1 Like |
