No matter how good this policy seems to be and which ever motive might be the reason for the sudden implementation of it,it does not worth the excruciating pains the Masses are going through.people are passing through hell.pmb is really dumb ,now I know that he does not know and understands what is happening around his govt,if not, how can a man that steer the leadership of a country allow somebody to decieve him in subjecting the citizen to this kind of hell .

CBN is simply trying to be clever by half since they know the governors are already ahead of them. If Banks are still collecting the old notes, then business can still collect them as legitimate means of exchange and then proceed to deposit same in banks.

This kind of policy summersault is what happens when you try to implement an illegal decision despite the order of the Supreme Court and the very obvious hardship that citizens are facing. Kudos to the courageous governors who have ordered their residents to continue to accept the old notes as means of exchange. They are the heroes this period. Big shame on all those who are supporting the suffering that Buhari and Emefiele are inflicting on Nigerians simply because of politics. After the election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will reverse the inhuman policy.

Cbn only make the pronouncement to ease the stress in the public. You will still passed through the stress but not much by generating the code online. Also the #500 and #1000 is no more a legal tender in the public. Cbn operatives want to ease the stress of Nigerians here. Kudos to them. More collections of the old naira notes.
so what are you saying now?

Since banks can accept them until Apri, why not? Forget the English they used to save face.

Is it 500k which is the maximum amount each person can pay and it’s just once you can pay in old notes till April 10th each politician stashed? We are talking about politicians hoarding notes in billions here.

Billions they will share to millions of Nigerians...

You get it now?

Then Nigerians will later deposit it in banks, say from 1k to 500k naira each.

The question is - which serious minded business person have the time to collect old notes, go to the bank, waste much time in the queue, reach their turn, collect generated number, then wait again to reach their turn before his or her cash is accepted? Do turnover and start again the circle.... Nah, it doesn't worth the stress.

Day to day business persons can't risk doing something that would bring biz stress and detriments to his or her business.

Nobody get such time, we rather reject the old naira to ensure the smooth business run.

The thing is that even this reversal would not still stop the coming protests... If I deposit my old 500k note, will the bank give me new naira notes

The protest on the street is because of the scarcity of the new notes... The old note still won't be collected on the street
technically the old notes are still legal tender. Old no dey come out to say I'm sorry, na sense dem dey use.

I am laughing gullible Nigerians

Let’s earmark the collection of old 500 and old 1000 notes from now till Election Day.

Possible uncertainty in getting the required code needed after filling the old notes deposit application form.

1.Server downtime

2.Traffic

3. Network downtime

4. Application error

5. Invalid details

Tick tok...Tick tok your time is limited.

The magnitude of uncertainty in this new development can’t be ascertained.

Lol,,, Their plan is to mop up the remaining old naira notes circulating... by the time they have gathered all the old naira notes you will be begging the bank for peanuts.

They are only trying to make sure there's no old notes circulating on before next week general elections.
