In a space of 4 weeks, some republican states legislature rejected bills about letting toddlers and kids have guns (not toy guns ooo) unsupervised, another state legislature rejects bill that will prevent marriage of underage girls, it's on Nairaland foreign section topic that I read about how a Republican politician wanted to throw interracial marriage debate to the supreme Court for review, we all watched how they attacked the Capitol (seat of power in the USA) and many other shithole type vibes.

Nice rephrase. Not sure any place in the US is as bad as places in Nigeria. I did a drive from Abuja to the East, when my plane was re-routed. and there were no flights out. I have never seen such poverty, to be fair most of it was in the Northern part; Mud houses with no windows or doors on main roads. I had never realized how privileged my view of Nigeria was.

That being said, going through some Republican southern states you can feel the entrenched generational poverty, the kind of poverty that wears you down and ages you. Also, I watched that movie "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and the level of poverty there was incredible. Always wanted to see it first hand, but don't want to be accused of "poverty tourism" either.

Yet, these places continue to vote Republican. Look at Ohio's two Senators one D and one R during this train crash. Which one is actually making sense and super concerned about the residents? Sherod Brown. Even writing a letter to the Governor to declare a disaster, whilst the Gov. is saying he trusts the Railroad company enough to let them do the testing. I keep saying, you deserve the government you elect.

This is generally the game the American Right plays. You can't win either way. There goal isn't for actual policy enhancements, it's just political theater. So, the right raved about a Chinese balloon in US airspace and elevated to a Tier 1 National Security issue creating fear throughout the country. So, the Admin shoots it down, and then increases the sensitivity of our detection systems (these balloons weren't picked up in the past till after the fact). Now the increased sensitivity leads to the pick up of these floating objects during Superbowl weekend which is already a National Security event. So, put yourself in that situation. What do you do given the public is riled up? Once you detect any object like that and can't immediately identify it, you of course have to shoot it down. So, you've now spent millions shooting down maybe $100 items. But you have to make that decision because Republicans again, played with National security for politics. And what happens next, those same idiots now trash the Admin for being trigger happy and shooting down a probably ~$100 with $400,000 missile. Republicans are a danger to the US.

FYI, if the US can't figure out what an object is. No other country would be able to. We have the best surveillance technology worldwide.
