The Uncouth Nature Of Peter Obi Supporters by Naijatask: 5:06pm On Feb 20, 2023 |
Good evening everyone.
I've observed an uncouth behavior in this forum and other social media spaces like Twitter and Facebook about peter obi supporters.
They tend to assume that all Yoruba people will vote for APC's presidential candidate and as such, any Yoruba person who doesn't agree with them even on matters not related to politics, are called various names like Yoruba Muslim, head slammer, and other despicable names. While Hausa people are called uncouth names like almajiri, muhammedan, etc.
I mean, if this isn't tribalistic, I don't know what else to call it.
Trust me, I'm an Hausa person and an ardent supporter of Peter obi but some of his supporters (I mostly noticed this a lot about the Igbo tribe) tend to assume that all Yoruba people and Hausa people are against peter obi.
The uncouth nature of some of his supporters will be one of the reasons he may lose the election (even though I don't pray for his failure sha).
We should rather educate people on why the need and emergence of Peter obi and not attacking them verbally on social media.
The better we start educating people on the need for peter obi as the president, the better for us.
Thank you. 4 Likes 1 Share |

You better stop this thing you're posting.
Even from a neutral point of view, go on Twitter and see them calling people "Obi supporters", "Obidense", while calling Peter Obi "Pitobi"
The Yorubas that support Obi are called "omo ale". What do you have to say to that?
Thankfully, Obi supporters wouldn't succumb to bullies. If not, y'all would have silenced them and the Peter Obj movement. 14 Likes 3 Shares |

Thank you. I am not sure how you came about such conclusion. I have watched very carefully how people especially the opposition create propaganda to make it look like obidients are uncouth or disrespectful. Infact, it's the APC supporters that started such nonsense because of grounds obidients are gaining. They never believed that a man without structure can gain such traction in terms of organic followership. When the obidients are insulted, it is expected that some may retaliate. We are humans, it happens But to say obidients are uncouth is a hasty generalization. For those who are on the firing line should tone down a bit , however let it be known that nobody has Monopoly of violence online or offline. This is a struggle for the soul of Nigeria. We shall continue to apply wisdom where necessary 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Thank you. Truth of the matter is that there will always be lots of kids and immature/slow-brained adults out there who do not have the capacity to pass their message across in a civil manner without resorting to the uncouth agbero mob action you refer to. Definitely the actions of some of these folks could cost OBI some votes but hopefully the damage wouldn't be so much. This election is about rescuing the soul of Nigeria from total collapse, so let's just try and ignore the disasteful tribal and senseless comments from these 'kids' and focus on the target of ensuring OBI wins the election. |
