Even as a footballer, I've never been screened out for any age screening I've participated in. Though I've seen so many guys get screened out and if you see the way they cry ehhn.

One lost a Swedish club deal because of age. He came back depressed and hasn't recovered till today, he's now in school. Even the school sef, ASSU strike don show am shege, before he finish, he fit don clock 32 or so, now which company will employ him? Age will might kick him hard again.

Back to me, i have this baby face and I'm not the bearded kind of person, I hate beards, especially the side beards, I can manage goatee. Lol. Na just my height dey won Bleep me up sometimes, I'm 6.7'' and in football, oyibo/scouts really take height for a grown man in Africa.

Even like now, I can go for even under 17 screening and still pass.

Some jobs are for young people. In some skilled jobs, advance in age is an advantage. Would you rather have a 28-yrs old doctor or a 55-yrs old doctor? The young doctor may be intelligent but age limitation will cast doubt on his experience.

I lost the opportunity to work in zenith Bank because of age. Everything was intact until d age factor set in. Thank God though, another opportunity came and am d boss of my self and get people working for me presently.

I can't count how many times... I have always been slightly older than roles. Missed many good opportunities.
Ernst and Young, I was 27, they needed 26. I got to the interview and missed that.
DPR, they needed 28, I was 30. At the interview, they asked and I didn't hear from them again.
Even for an experienced role that typically shouldn't be age dependent, somehow, age comes in for me. Access Bank, experienced role, finished all interviews in flying colours. Only to later learn they just introduced an age-to-grade rule, which saw me being 4 years older than the grade I was to get... So that painfully slipped away.
The hard luck with age has made me not have a career which I so crave, but I am not giving up. I am chasing it and I'll still get it by God's grace.
Nothing but positive mindset. We soldier on.

I once went for an interview in UBA Miatama branch, the HR was already very disrespectful to me but I didn't mind. When it was time they checked my WAEC result age and my Birth Certificate age. There was a mistake from WAEC result with one day difference but the same Year. This HR started shouting at me and told me to get out of that place I was shocked cos life is bigger than being a Slave. I found out the guys Salary was 79k minus tax hence the need to pour his frustration on others. I wish him all the best I have grown since then hope he has too..
