It's not new that underaged voters are normally the order of the day in the Northern parts of the country most especially Kano state during election processes. I wasn't surprised this morning while trying to follow up on the happenings/ situation reports on the ongoing presidential elections via Arise News that reports of underaged voters were recorded even with the heavy police presence.

The commissioner of police for the state when asked on this disturbing matter shamefully said " It is very difficult to determine by appearance who is a minor or not, most of the ones you are seeing their growth rate might be impaired . He further went on to say if they were duly registered by INEC then he has no issue with that"

Obviously these are the manipulations of the power that be. It's sad that even on national tv someone can say such. Someone needs to be held accountable for this in order to check it's recurrence . The issue now is who? The INEC chairman of the affected state or the police commissioner for his careless speech?

Yes u probably can't tell a person's actual age by looking at them but when u see a group of minors on a mission u will know. As a keen observer and a trained policeman the CP should not have made that statement. I put it to u that if this same policeman should see any of those minors driving alone on the road that car would be flagged down and the particulars required. Even when the particulars confirms the age as an adult he would still double check with FRSC.

U can't say I have no argument. Let's be realistic
